But I say take the bird in the hand and GO WITH Throners.com, it's the most obvious name for Game of Thrones fans and a definite SCOOOOOOOOOOOORE that it was not already taken. Donal will do a poll, once we have enough viable candidates. Which means whittling down the random suggestions that keep cropping up. Throners is the most obvious one to me too. Plus we own it now. But I'm not married to it.

I think the biggest issue for me besides the erect penis similarity is that Throners is what you would call people belonging to a site, not the site itself.

The main focus of the new forum name will be to increase visibility. We are a forum with a critical mass of 20 solid members.

Our first name had the goal to tie into Wic.net , but it has not brought in the results we were going for. wicgeeks.com by itself doesn't tie into anything and I amazed we didn't change it before.

 

For the amount we pay for hosting it is incredibly wasteful, having a name that ties to the fandom and bring us more google hits when season 4 starts is my paramount concern. Having a random person looking for a GOT forum to hang out that is not the stick-up-the-ass westeros.org is a need we need to fill.

Whatever name is chosen will be fine (ragingthroners) I haven't seen a bad suggestion yet (best choice:ragingthroners) the folks here have class and I trust their judgement. Especially when ragingthroners wins by a landslide. Anyway, what sets this site apart from wicnet is threaded comments. And, honestly, the layout here blows. Sorry, it does. I should be able to go from the homepage to the comment section in a thread in two mouse clicks.

I would plow through this site like a hot dildo through a convent, merging and eliminating threads with abandon until it was all tidy. It would be a slaughter. Only sexy! The site looks great for the most part and I appreciate the hard work Don and the others do, but it needs extensive butchering.

Vote ragingthroners for a better future!

I suppose somehow including , "Game" and or "Thrones" into the name would get us more hits.

I remembered something. Some time ago, more than a year I think, this thing about names for GoT/ASOIAF fans, came up at Wic and many many people chose "throners" too. Just to keep in mind. Still liking fleabottom. Don`t weep atat, could be ragingfleabottom biggrin
