I saw it on Stars' free movie weekend. Stumbled upon it, actually. I think they have good actors, but it is sloooooow. Was hard for me to finish it. There is some gratuitous nudity, which is cool, but not to the Rome/Sparticus level. I may try to watch again, but was not a "must see" from the first episode. My

Started watching it on Amazon today and I enjoyed it. And yes the gratuitous nudity kicks ass, I wasn't expecting to see the chick from Hell on Wheels show us her incredible derriere
Gotta say I've grown really fond of this show it's given me my fill of Pirate debauchery I never thought I'd see on the big screen let alone the small one. The location and sets are beautiful and it's nice to see Toby Stephens finally lead a good show. The opening sequence is also really cool. I think I might even like Black Sails more than Vikings.
Plus watching this show so soon after playing through Assassin's Creed IV makes it more enjoyable.

Well , I've started watching this again ... I'm totally into it ! I'm loving the insight into what these sailors had to do to keep a boat running ... you never really think about that.
It's a little brutal in places and the brat saying Fuck all the time is just not convincing. But hey ho and a bottle rum !

I thought the first season of this show was quite meh, basically i was watching for its visual pleasure *ahem* But S2 seemed to find its way and really picked up pace and story and I ended up enjoying it a lot! It was a lot of fun. Hope they'll be able to keep it up for S3.

That's so ironic about Ray ... when half the ASIOF world wanted him for another pirate ... and the whole story line was cut!!
Ray ended up with the better gig IMO. Black Sails is getting better while Game of Thrones is declining in quality . S2 of Black Sails was way better than S4 and so far S5 of GOT.
I can't wait to see Blackbeard go toe to toe with Vane and Flint.
