and it worries the hell outta me cause they seem to be adding fuel to the theories that wether to burn or not to burn Shireen is to be Stannis' decisive trial.
I've made up my mind. Shireen's not gonna get burned, even though Mel might try. There's no way they're gonna burn a disfigured girl that has done nothing story-wise except being sweet, intelligent, helpful and secluded. I think there's a reason why Stannis's relationship with Shireen is closer on the show. If given the possibility, I think he'd sacrifice himself to guarantee her safety and place her on the throne. Maybe the harsh reality that Mel was telling Selyse about was that Stannis will die in the North and that Shireen will have to be crowned queen in his stead. I know the other option of Shireen needing to be sacrificed looks more in line with Mel's actions so far, but I just don't see it happening. From a narrative perspective, If Stannis's final trial was to sacrifice his own child, why make his child such a wretched character? That would not only be terribly cruel, but bad writing as well.
HAHA Macha yours was a rhetorical question I take it!!!! I'll answer anyway. Though it is probably better you forgot them as they really are a generic evil in the books as well as the show.
I have to say I am shocked I remember those Bloody Mummers after so much time but Timeon and Pyg is easy: TIMON & PUMBA! once I associated those I never forgot them. Shagwell - Shagga son of Dolf. So Crackclaw Point Bloody Mummers were easy ;)
I did like Brienne's chapters. BWB took all the credit with ridding the Riverlands of them. But part of it definitely belongs to Brienne. Which is why I remember her fighting the Trident ones as well. Gendry came to help IIRC and then she was taken prisoner with Pod.
Don tsk, tsk! you can't remember the mighty Bronze Yhon! LOL
Does anyone beside me, Al and Ly remember the secondary characters?! Raise your hands
Also: Banana Peel looks mighty good right now for LF. Doubt they'll blame it on SweetRobin. He was not around. No one else was! (like for example a singer)

So we've got:
The Wildlings burning Mole's Town down
The Hound + Arya fighting the Vale Knights at the Bloody Gate
Jorah being banished
Theon taking Moat Cailin
Oberyn v Mountain
Very busy episode

I'm going in my mind through the whole thing. So for Lysa they did suicide BUT Sansa totally figured out for herself she should stick to Petyr Baelish. I know I'm biased but honestly, the look exchanged between Sansa and LF was so good. I think I love LF more if that was even possible. And Sansa gained my respect.
Mole's town got raided. Next is the Wall. I liked Ygritte letting Gilly and the baby alive.
The Meereen is difficult. I think Tywin sending the original Robert's letter of pardon was genius. Jorah's hurt killed me. And Dany's too. He's such a good actor btw. And in there Grey Worm and Misandei intrigue I found it interesting. Not in the books, but gives both characters some depth, some emotions. Also: Grey Worm WAS interested...
So the Hound and Arya got to the Vale. I wonder if they get accepted in or turn back?
Finally KL scenes. I loved and at the same time pissed at the show killing Oberyn. After so much time you'd think I got over it.
The scene was extremely well done and rather short for my taste. Imagined it differently so that has to do with a lot when I watched it. But seriously, the moves on RV were freaking amazing. HE WAS AMAZING. LINES AND EVERYTHING.
Those are the main things I remember. I'll probably rewatch it some time next week.
So if memory serves at the end of AFFC Sansa went on the road with Littlefinger....at the end of this episode she went on the road with littlefinger. Did D&D blow through her ENTIRE book 5 storyline in a single episode?
I LOVE IT!

Why didn't they do the confession stuff between Jamie and Tyrion ? No wait that's when he escapes isn't it ? Ah ok . I'll leave my grumbles for now ...
I don't think she let Gilly go because she could tell she was a wildling. She was obviously looking at the child. I think we may get a hint before she dies. She has been very cruel lately, but now something clicks.
I think it may be time for me to separate the books from the show otherwise it might start to ruin my enjoyment.
Overall I didn't particularly like the episode but I felt they nailed the duel, and yeah The Red Viper's demise was a lot more horrific than I expected it to be. Even the sight of Gregor knocking out Oberyn's teeth had my stomach doing somersaults.
Dany banishing Jorah was hard to watch, the pain in Ian Glen's eyes was heartbreaking.
WTF was with that opening? a burping whore, how more juvenile can they get? We've had a burping whore and Lannister guards who fart, what's next a vomiting wildling?
Grey Worm lusting after Missandei ugh so ridiculous . The plus side is Nathalie Emmanuel is smoking hot so it has made the deviation slightly tolerable.
Alfie Allen continues to keep me engaged in the north despite the fact that arc is all over the place. If it wasn't for him I'd have no interest in it. I am still trying to rack my brains around how Yara was able to storm a fully garrisoned Dreadfort and escape unscathed even though Ramsay unleashed the hounds upon her.
I don't even know where the fuck D & D are going with Sansa and Littlefinger. I have always felt Sansa would be Petyr's downfall so perhaps it's foreshadowing what's to come later. Even so Baelish is the man who has orchestrated the events which have caused civil war across the kingdoms, yet when it came to planning Lysa's death they've made it look like he did it on a whim and relied on sheer luck to escape the inquest, ok then. Also what's the point in Sansa dying her hair if Royce and co know who she is? there's no reason for her to stay under cover with the Vale's protection.
I do admit though Sophie looked really sexy with the dyed hair and black dress.
I don't even know where the fuck D & D are going with Sansa and Littlefinger.
I am excited for it! The Sansa chapters in AFFC were some of the worst and were a torturous chore to read through for me. They smartly eliminated Marillion the bard and turned that scene how Sansa has learned to lie from Littlefinger.
Seeing "Dark Sansa" come down the stairs was exciting, since it was completely new and might just be material from Winds of Winter. It was wonderful.

The only excitement I have for that arc is seeing Sansa sexed up.
So I wonder if the battle of the wall will have two tiers, the assault on Castle Black first and then the assault on the wall. Also I predict that the kid that got orphaned by Ygritte will be the one that shoots the arrow that kills her.

Apparently in that leaked audition tape they mention Jaime has sneaked into Dorne. I hope it's just a scenario for the reading and not a potential deviation.
Rhaegar, despite wounding Robert, was struck down with a massive blow from Robert's warhammer, which scattered the rubies encrusted in Rhaegar's armor under the water. Rhaegar died with Lyanna Stark's name on his lips.
My guess is Jaime is taking over Oakheart but it's a bizarre move to make, for starters Oakheart bangs Arianne and secondly Hotah slices him in half with his "absurdly" large axe.
Well in the books Jaime leaves the capital to deal with affairs around the kingdom.
First his dad is dead so he can do what he wants and second I am sure Cersei becomes insufferable after daddy dies and Tyrion escapes.
I am keeping an open mind, could be fun or could be Asha/Yara running away from dogs. We shall see.

Sending Jaime to Dorne puts him out of range from Brienne though. Then again D & D's world is so small Tywin is able to get daily updates of Dany's actions in Slavers Bay, so Brienne could possibly pop down to Dorne in a couple episodes after meeting Stoneheart.
I only wanted to say that Mean Sansa dress was ridiculous And why always brunettes are meanies eh? I know plenty of blondies or redheads bitches.

pffft, that far-away-stunt-in-maleficent look plus that godawful cheapy necklace I rolled my eyes to the back of my skull when I saw that. Really? I thought in this story "going to the dark side" and "wearing black" were not supposed to be the same thing.

I don't think it is a direct representation of her current personality, I rather think it is Sansa playing up what she thinks Littlefinger would like to see from her.

EDIT: It doesn't matter anyway, since we'll probably never know.
The "Tower Of The Hand" review had a nice quote about the Gilly/ Ygritte scene:
"Finally, I'll admit that the romantic in me enjoyed the brief moment of compassion between the woman Jon loves and the woman Sam loves, and I can't help but wonder if something about that passed between them."
Awww.

Jaime on Dorne makes no sense to me, if they're replacing Aerys then what? Jaime is the one having the affair with Arianne? We gotta keep in mind Aerys dies. And Briennes meeting with Stoneheart?? Don't know how they're going to pull this one off...
So they split the fight in two! Stannis never showed up LOL That was quite the surprise for me!
What I liked was the Tormund part. All of it. Jon Snow knows how to swing a blade. Make of that what you will.
Loved Sam and Gilly moments. And the fact that Sam ALWAYS shows up when push comes to shove! An arrow straight through that guy's forehead.
Ygritte's death was well handled. Kid did it. It was logical.
Don't understand what Aemon's story was supposed to say. I get the feeling there was some hidden meaning there.
Have to watch it again. It was something quite different than I expected.
My heart dropped when I didn't see the Dragonstone trio in the credits, but fuck it. This was a mighty fine episode and yes, watching it now I don't see how they could have pickup up the pace again and do the charge after that intermezzo when things quiet down and Jon leaves.
Ugh, I cried. Many times.
I have some complaints but it's really late and can't deal with it right now. Grenn. Pyp. GAWD. Well, it just means we will have a bumper crop of Night's Watchmen. Maybe even Satin!
