Rhaegar, despite wounding Robert, was struck down with a massive blow from Robert's warhammer, which scattered the rubies encrusted in Rhaegar's armor under the water. Rhaegar died with Lyanna Stark's name on his lips.
I'm 99% sure that she tries to stab him (for real or just to prove a point?) but fails. Come on, he's got what looks like pretty sturdy armor, even chainmail perhaps? Either way, I can't see why would they have Arya stab him *and* put it in a promo. If he gets wounded, it will probably be in the Vale, battling one of the mountain clans or just some random bandits.
I liked this episode, I even loved some scenes but I´m so really really glad these guys are, apparently, moving this long ass story forward. They are probably telling part of what Gurm told them about WoW but they are actually telling the story to US, someone is writing (and filming!) ASOIAF, someone is making some characters do things and they might have some kind of answers for all of us, for all the shit and clues Gurm sowed in these books.
Was reading here and there he must be banging his head against a wall because the show catch up with him and I believed that too for a couple of days, (and felt pretty happy about it), but now I think he gives a flying fuck and he´s happy someone else knows how to finish ASOIAF or that at least is doing it for him.

Yup, I am glad someone is doing some storytelling cuz GRRM isn't.

Critique of last week:
Having Vargo Hoat in there was puzzling ... they are clearly just recycling a character and slotting him back in somewhere because they like him. artificial. especially as in his previous episodes he doesn't come across as particularly cunning, just thirsty for sick entertainment and with a bit of a chip on his shoulder.
The Others bit is also a bit corny. The "old devil head" with the stereotypical villain's sneer taking over the baby could be from an 80s Bmovie. Piercing the mystery and suspense surrounding them for that?? Useless. At least the other Others had a non-committal stern face - an otherworldly demeanour so to speak!
The whole new "Crasters Keep Bran v Mutineers & Jon coming" scenario seems more interesting. Albeit contrived... vast miles of wilderness and they just so happen to stumble upon the keep. Anyway at least it keeps those who know the book intrigued and on their toes - when done intelligently, why not.
So glad to see you again, Binocular! It seems the common comparison, every article/site I've seen is full of King of the Others = Darth Maul

I re watched the trailer Macha and I think you're right , I jumped to conclusions a bit
OMG! Locke got Hodored by Bran. That's just unbelieveble!
Loved Oberyn: "we don't hurt little girls in Dorne" I mean.. Can this guy get any cooler?! Really?!?!
I have to say, LF has always been one of my fave characters but this is just ridiculous. I am loving his story. Lysa is nuts. I was never a Sansa fan. But seeing her aunt, makes me one.
I loved Jon/ Bran near encounter. I do wonder what Jojen's hand on fire all about?!?! That was NOT in the books!

Jon Snow kicked ass. #Just Saying
Yep, I'm all in on , , I actually like him better with his clothes on for some reason , and with you, SisY, the Daario 2.0 just does not blow my skirt up.

Atat, tell me how was it obvious in the books that the Lannisters are broke? I liked that theory when you mentioned it a couple of weeks back, but I haven't researched it in any way and now I'm curious.

I was kidding. However, I believe the part where Tywin ends up not shitting gold is a little joke on the author's part concerning the Lannister finances.
Next batshit theory that gets proven on the show: Tyrion is not Tywin's son. I'm almost on board with this one.

Lysa didn't yell "Oh Petyr" but she did give us a porn worthy orgasmic scream that even Dany could hear
Another solid episode, there isn't much I have to complain about. The only thing that bugged me was Cersei strolling through the episode like she was drugged up on stress medication. I mean really as if she would ever be that nice and encouraging to Maergery.
For a moment there I thought we were about to get Jorah forcing a kiss on Dany, she looked so pretty on that balcony.
So glad they gave us Lysa interrogating Sansa into a tearful mess.
Jojen's glimpse into his own future was interesting. The first thought that ran into my head is dragon fire.
I am loving the fact they've not been forcing Tyrion scenes in just for the sake of it, perhaps D & D are learning that less is indeed more.
Gold mines drying up ??? is this true or are D & D just trying to make up a reason for the alliance with the Tyrell's ?
The showdown at Craster's Keep was exhilarating but I just wish they allowed Jon to of defeated Karl without the help of Craster's daughter.
I agree. They could have done so much more. Good actor. Good set up. And they kill him off for what?! for Hodored Bran.
I would of used Hodor to squish Rast and let Ghost aid Jon against Karl instead of Craster's daughter. Locke should of been kept around until Mance attacks the wall.
Someone at another forum I post at made a good point, what if JoJen's vision could be Melisandre burning him? Didn't she already say those with the 3 Eyed Crow are evil?
