I just saw the pilot and all I have to say is, "Meh".

They jump around from plot point to plot point, and I'm not convinced of anyone's motivation.

If you're already turned off by his lack of smoking, I don't think that the quality of the writing or acting will make up for it. The only redeeming thing are the special effects, and remember, it's a pilot, that budget will only go down.

I'm planning to watch it anyway. Though in my mind Constantine is Keanu Reeves! I think chain smoking is to Constantine as the cape and boots are to Superman. teehee I automatically associate them. Not that I'm particularly turned off. It's the image it invokes.
