Put your rumors about the cast and show here.  If there is a particular spoilers that has the potential to ruin a surprise in the television show, please tag it in spoiler tag.  And let us know that's what it is!

So ... what if Charles Dance was filming scenes this year? Does that mean HBO doesn't kill him off?

The purists would riot!

Have they already started filming Season 5? If not, then probably he was filming some fill in or a late fix. Or some kind of flashback. Or Season 4 doesn't end where we think it does in that arc.

I've edited the topic title because I could not find a more suitable topic for this... apologies if it's been covered elsewhere. But who else is stoked about HBO wanting more seasons? I mean, that's incredible, right? It's what we all hope and dream?

Also, I know they've mentioned something about a split season 7... (with twice as many episodes)... Theoretically they can do that for Season 6 too, right?

Umm, I'm super excited to be honest if they do, but I don't think they will. At best they'll split the 7th season in two runs of 7-8 episodes. I'm not sure if anyone else is excited about this development though.

You would think 10 seasons would be great, but I personally felt 7 was the sweet spot and the show feels like it is heading to its climax. D&D have been ademant about 7 seasons, maybe HBO might convince them to do 8 and a movie...but 10 feels too much.

Afterall HBO loves the money, but the universe is already running out of story after this season, can we really expect D&D to invent 5 more seasons of material from the sliver of manuscripts that remain?

One of my biggest pet peeves are TV shows that start great and then start sucking in the last season, I applaud Breaking Bad for ending things while they were on top...I want GOT to go out the same way,

HBO has cut short a few successful shows like Rome and Deadwood (which they have replaced with "John from Cincinnati" - anyone heard of that one? No? well... there you have it teehee) and now is not about to end this it if there's still story left, especially if they see the huge success. But it really depends on how much story they have left. Benioff & Weiss think 2 seasons only and even if there was more, they probably planned for that number.

Exactly! and even though they had to cut some successful shows due to budget constrains, the problem with Got would be twofold, on one hand the lack of any new source material to adapt from, and on the other the current subplots being dragged in order to make the show last beyond the originally planned seven seasons, no way this could end well.

And another problem that comes to mind is the huge cast and their contracts, they probably signed for seven seasons already and extending their contracts in such short notice would be a legal nightmare and the raises would be exponential, that alone makes the whole idea almost impossible.

I admit I read this and my only thought was - and still is - PLEASE, please end it at seven. As much as I'd love the show, endings are good and necessary, sometimes sooner than later. From what I keep reading about S5, I really like the pace they're going at and I think they have the story well under control. It'd be a shame to stretch it thin.
