Peter Gabriel: Man in Car, Melting Face, Security, Us Pixies: Surfer Rosa, Doolittle Liz Phair: Exile in Guyville Pink Floyd: The Wall, Delicate Sound of Thunder (fuck you, I love it) The Killers: Hot Fuss The Church: Starfish U2: Joshua Tree The Fratellis: Costello Music Poe: Hello The Clash: London Calling The Police: Reggatta de Blanc, Outlandos d'Amour
The reason it's so hard is because there are so few albums that are strong all the way through. One reason is that concept albums are hard to pull off and are usually the province of prog rock. And, shoot me, Rush sucks massive balls. Some of my favorite artists put out albums full of shit but have some great tracks on them. Like David Bowie and Kate Bush. Elton John. Others. I am now listening to Exile in Guyville. You should too.

I'm not... a huge Wes Anderson fan... My daughter's father is the one who forced me to watch his movies, in fact i find them flat and lifeless, very decorative (as those by Spike Jonze and Sofia Coppola), a real lack of flesh and blood , i'm the one who hates Rushmore, throw me stones ! But Arthur Lee can make me cry ... A house is not a home, and you can call my name, ladida !

was watching a movie the other day and I thought "i know these movies and I don`t like them"... turned out to be Wes Anderson´s The Grand Budapest hotel. Had to say I found the first scene really really funny (old writer with kid) but the rest, idk. I think it only made me want to watch Chaplin´s movies.
I`m right there with ya Asha.

Sorry for the off-topic but just this. If you want to see a better movie somewhat similar to Grand Budapest Hotel, just watch I Served The King of England.
I forgot where the hell i could have seen this reference and then i remenbered... It was during a trip to Prague, Hrabal books ! Didn't see the adaptation nor read the book but it has a mitteleuropa flavor wich sounds convincing ! Sorry but i have to add another album :
