I don't agree with Veltigar most of the time (in my head, lol), but his Euron - mads campaign is one of the few things that make me chuckle at WiC anymore. Not sure if I should take that comment seriously, not sure why it wasn't deleted, not sure why I even check that place anymore. Maybe for the same reasons I check Linda's blog.

What bothered me a lot yesterday while reading the boards over at Westeros (and if I'd have to choose now between Westeros and WiC in terms of interesting discussions, I'd definitely pick Westeros) is that you could just see how a lot of people's opinions ere shaped by Elio and Linda's review, to the point that now you'll hear that "the duel should have been like the one in Rob Roy" every-fucking-where. Nitpick the show all you want, but I'd love to hear some original arguments from time to time.
And what truly baffles me is this: just how low could you sink, when you're hating on and calling "idiots" the people that make the show that:
a. Gives you, GRRM and your website more publicity that you could ever dream of, and pays your bills.
b. Sells the books you "help" GRRM write, because see above.
c. you translate for your local cable network or whatever.
and d. wasn't Cogman who defended them saying they're actually friends? I don't understand people who worship Cogman and think everything D&D do is shit. I just can't wrap my head around that. Do they really believe Cogman's writing is completely independent from everything else that goes on in the show? It's a symbiotic relationship, ffs.
Anyway, rand over because I don't even know why I started it in the first place.

And I would gladly take Elio and Linda seriously if their grading system - because that's what it is, it's not an analysis - would be more than a simplistic "books good, changes to books bad" thinking.

 You're right, Cary. But for me, Linda (more her than Elio, really) is interesting to read because she shapes a lot of people's views in this fandom. And I don't really care about the impact, but her whole perspective - yes, I do find that interesting, the same way I might find some extremist politicians interesting. Making fun of other's people's opinions is part of what makes a fandom fun, let's face it. So I'm not ashamed to say I do care about Linda a great deal, because she makes me laugh and rant and laugh again. In conclusion, she keeps me entertained.

I've only read a couple of their reviews but I was always entertained... I find them funny to watch in their habitat, like going to see a zoo where the animals choose to be there.

Yes, thanks for the update KM! I was hoping beyond hope they'll have it up by Comic Con but I doubted they can do it so fast. Curious to see what format will they choose. Will it be blog style like wic.net or a blog with forum attached (I've been in one of those and it is confusing until you get the lay of the land). Good luck to them.

I wouldn't rename it. I don't think we want to equate WiC with WatchersontheWall. We should create a "Funny Times at WoW" thread for when chat isn't enough to contain our thoughts.
