I cannot believe no one watched "The Fall". I am almost done with the second season and it just has the most weird and creepy good story. I always thought Gillian is a one show wonder. I cannot believe what a prejudiced ass I was.
I watched the first season last year, liked it very much but was annoyed they didn't finish the story. You tell me if the story is wrapped in season 2 and I will give it a go!
I watched The Fall too. It was very good, but come to think of it, something about it ticked me the wrong way. I'm not in any hurry to watch Season 2 but I'll probably give it a go at some point...they had 4 or episodes per season, right?
does wrap up the story. But something is weirdly left up in the air. I cannot tell more or I will truly spoil you and you might not want this type of spoiler actually. It's a resolution with a twist.
I didn't count the eps to be honest but I think they were 6 in season 2. I finished watching it last night.
There are a couple of points where they overdid it with the dialog for example and I can't put my finger on it myself what feels off about those scenes. There's also the near misses, everything coincides or chance steps in serendipitously for Paul Spector, rather than careful planning that you expect from a serial killer with experience (yes, I do expect meticulous planning and alternatives for this kind of thing ) but generally I liked it.

Someone said "you might like this show". Damn right that chicken. "Happy Valley". Imma start with the titles song because it´s gooooood, little british guy Jake Bugg with a song that sounds beautifully old: Trouble town.
Spoiler
"Stuck in speed bump city where the only thing that´s pretty is the thought of getting out", that says the song and boy is true. Little hell of a town that´s not so different from any town.
So there´s the great song and there´s the acting that´s not actually a surprise because the british have great actors all around, from the first to the last most of the times and this show is no exception and looky, the main character, Catherine, is Sara Lancashire who´s really Miss Audrey from The Paradise (for you girls that watched) and then we have O´fucking Brien from Dowtown Abbey (you won´t believe it tho). I have no words for Sara Lancashire in this role, her performance is so subtle is unbelievable. Genius and demanding acting. The rest are all great too. Needed till episode 6, (the last one), to realize who Dany was, was all the time thinking "looks like Gendry´s brother with weird hair" but no, was Karl Davies = Alton Lannister from GoT. Ok, I will bitch anyway, just a bit because the writing is really good till episode 6 (maybe 5) but later there´s some plot holes and obvious results and repetitions and blahblah but really, is forgivable. It´s like the writer couldnt stop, got trapped. It´s a fat script with great complex characters, world building, morals, etc. Writer and creator is Sally Wainwright and I love this woman since she adapted "The taming of the shrew" for the BBC´s Shakespeare re-told. If you didn´t watch, do it because it´s hilarious.
For a moment reminded me of The Wire for the complexity, tho this story is very small in comparison, of course but there´s something similar in the politics of it all, the morals... yes, it´s a bit pretentious, who cares. I watched Jurassic shark too so i`m balanced. If I remember correctly one of the things I loved about the The Wire was how Simon talked shit about hierarchies, they were all stupid and corrupt and vicious. The same happens here and it´s really great. This is not the classic british police story and Catherine is not a classic copper but she´s a hero and you will instantly love her. She´s such a a big mule, sometimes you think that´s the only thing that keeps her going. That´s one of the themes in this show, (few) people trying to be as good as they can. Gotta love them. Even O´Brien!
I`m not saying the show is fucking depressing, bleak and gritty and I loved almost every minute of the first 4 episodes. And there´s sisters and I love stories about sisters. But there´s so many good story lines here, about morals, education vs DNA, crime and ignorance, sociopathies, idk, just don´t listen to me yapping, watch!
I´ll probably edit this to make some sense but now I can´t!
Holy crap Andrea! I was browsing through the Netflix choices since I'm done with The Fall and I just happened to see the name. I knew I've seen it here, though I thought Cary was watching it. BUT I LOVE IT! Reminds me of the Fargo movie! I cannot stress how good the first ep was. EVERYTHING WAS DAMN PERFECT! I think I'll binge watch this one when I'm not quite so busy.
I lied. I binge watched a bit I think the writing is just superb. Acting off the charts too. I don't know why but everything is just so natural even though the time is tight. The series' plots and storylines are just greatly handled however intricate they are. While a drama, the eps succeed in having the dark humor I've seen in Fargo in some places. I feel so bad about
Spoiler
Nevison's whole family drama and I am surprised at Richard's constant refusal to see his grandson as anything else other than the reason his daughter hanged herself. I hope Tommy gets his just deserts and I cried at Kristin's death. Cathrine's visions of her daughter's hanged body is troublesome. I hope she doesn't do anything crazy.

I don`t remember much TW, my memory is quite bad but I`m very glad you like it. I was very much in love with this show. I will re watch some day.
Ok, now I`m watching this Netflix drama called Bloodline. There so much to say about this show but as noone is watching I´ll wait.
I always say that and then I forget to post.
Thing is first episode was WOW. Great cliffhanger (tho I hate them). You need to watch the second episode right away. I won´t go episode by episode, I´m still watching btw. First episode had grrrrrrrrreat scenes. Every time Sam Shepard and Ben Mendelsohn had a scene I was just a delight, idk how to say it. They are amazing together.
For a moment I thought Sam Shepard might have something to do with the script or maybe just the dialogues but that was lost somewhere there after the second episode. Sometimes it felt like his style to write plays.
I should say I fucking hate them all except Danny (Mendelsohn). I love that character very dearly, with warts and all or mostly because his warts. I think he is one of my favorites characters of all times and if I´d be able to choose what to write I choose a character like Danny I think.
The show in general is on the limits of becoming soapy sometimes. Others is really good. Acting is really good too but I think I keep watching only because Ben Mendelsohn. He alone worths the watching. Amazing emotional perfect perfect acting. I adore him. I
wasn´t as excited for a performance like this one for a long time. I don´t even remember. He is the best.

So, I`m finishing this Bloodline show and I have to say, wait a bit to start watching. I`m really pissed with this show. But still watching just for Ben Mendelsohn. He´s that good. Show, not so much. But I have to finish it.

My god that looks terrible. I'll admit that I've never been all that big into comic books or superheroes, but surely this is a sign that maybe we're getting over-saturated with em. I mean, damn that is awful looking.

What in the name of ever loving fuck is going on?!?!?!?! Did Kara just completely ripped off Kal-El's story?!?!? Jesus, DC has lowered the bar so low no wonder everything is Marvel now.
Ok, I'm hooked on "Bloodline". So thank you Andrea & Japie. I saw 3 eps in 2 days! Script seems decent and plot is mysterious. The sets are gorgeous, everyone showed up with their A game for acting. Also, the voice over intro kills it really. And I cannot believe I said that because Kyle Chandler is not as bad as I remember He's definitely doing the good/nice guy he's done many times before. I think it's like a second skin by now. Typecast HOWEVER, there seems to be a dark side to him. So I'm waiting... Oh Ben Mendelsohn is truly good :applause: So is Sam Shepard and the actor who plays Kevin as well as the actress who plays Meg.
Bloodline is good but it's an incredibly slow burn. It doesn't really pick up until the last four or six episodes. Ben Mendelsohn is the highlight though, his performance is excellent.
For me the show went down the tube those last few episodes Al. Mendelsohn is the highlight for sure, but the nuanced writing that made his character so great went to batshit D&D levels towards the end. A good drama changed into a mediocre thriller in the blink of an eye.
I don't know Japie, I thought it WAS a thriller John being a cop with Meg's boyfriend as a partner on a case kind of made it so. However, I positively agree with Andrea's take on the series. Danny is brilliantly written and acted. He's such a mindfucker. He spins everything around and everyone plays to his tune so far. I wonder when will they wake up and figure out they are outplayed?! I feel sorry for them because he's just using everyone's weaknesses. Idiots. I'm starting to suspect also that Danny is an undercover agent for the DEA. No idea why or even if it is true. Love it. I'm more than halfway through.
Ok. Just remembered something I felt at 3am today. Fuck Bloodline and that whole family. And the detective who didn't do enough. I hate the bloody show. I hope everyone dies. Because the trip and fall on their very small penises and vaginas. That's what I felt. Also: AMAZING! SEE IT SO YOU CAN FEEL THE SAME
Loved Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell. Eddie Marsan´s acting is god smiling at you. Freaking lovely.

1:33 - "The other first thing I have to do is some cardio!" Autolycus and Xena! *fangirling* I had to say that. It's been a looooong time since I've seen Bruce Campbell and Lucy Lawless together.
The pilot has been leaked for quite some time, I was extremely excited about that one, but now I'm undecided. It seemed pretty meh throughout, but the ending did provide a nice catch. Could turn out good.
I was very excited about it too, but was so underwhelmed by the pilot I think I switched it off halfway. Might give it another go if the full season gets a good review because the concept is awesome.
Ok didn't watch either Supergirl or the other one but I DID watch Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell first half of the season, because they've put it on Amazon for rent/buy. Got the first ep free actually. Not sure how that works but whatever. Thanks Amazon! Excellent story.
New netflix show to be developed here, the pilot's on youtube, it was interesting even though the concepts seem a bit repetitive at this point, but still i hope this works!
