Let's use this baby here for small bits of S5 news that won't have a thread of their own.
Like the fact that the new director, Michael Slovis has previously worked on...*drum roll for completely under the radar and prematurely cancelled but fantastic TV show* Rubicon.
So far, so good.

Well well well, I loved everything about that show. This show could use a little subtlety instead of the INYOFACE direction it had most of the recent seasons. Also,
Well, MW has said she starts shooting S5 at the end of July, so you'd think we'd get some casting news leaking out before too long. Also wonder where they will film exteriors for that? It's always felt like it should be like Venice or Amsterdam to me but doubt that they'd want to do too much other than scene setting shots perhaps, with a lot being interiors on a set. It shouldn't be hot looking anyway, I think the place has lots of fog IIRC.

Nope, that's probably in episode 9 or 10 (since they're doing a big battle scene in the snow- probably Winterfell, I doubt they'll reach the battle of Meereen this season). This director is doing episodes 1 and 2- so expect him to introduce new characters and storylines. Arya reaching Braavos, Doran and Susnpear, the Sons of the Harpy, Tyrion meeting the Griffs (I don't see how they can cut them without completely ditching the source material post season 5), some Bran visions hopefully, Theon and the Boltons in Winterfell, Jamie going to Dorne and some good old fashioned Jon/Stannis bromance (the election probably, maybe the Mance burning- if they don't cut it).
Looks like the North will be a major focus in season 5, which is great considering it's the best part in ADWD. And they're pulling TWOW material for it, too! Great stuff
I was kinda meh because we are going into the two weakest books in the series....but the casting has made me
But I do find the lack of any Greyjoys a bit odd.....but meh...maybe D&D know that they arent going anywhere and cut them early...who knows.

Yeah, I don't really care anymore. They seem rather out of place even in the books. I would have liked Euron, if only to give Yara more to do.
Rhaegar, despite wounding Robert, was struck down with a massive blow from Robert's warhammer, which scattered the rubies encrusted in Rhaegar's armor under the water. Rhaegar died with Lyanna Stark's name on his lips.
Owen Teale looks so fly, even in a ladyjacket. Never doubted he was out though, he's my prime suspect for the you-know-what. Al, the guy in the right is a fan who wanted to take a pic I assume.
Somehow he seemed righteous enough and a loyal to the Watch temporary commander during the attack on the Wall to become a prime suspect
. The exchange with Jon where he's all "let's work together and you can hate me afterwards, because that is the risk of being a leader" made him quite likable in my eyes too. Besides, there's no one else!
Because it's so obvious that Thorne would use any excuse to shank Jon. I've seen it a thousand times before where a character who detests another stabs him in the back. It'll be more shocking if they choose someone close to Jon or a timid character.

I'm going to half agree with Al in that it shouldn't be Thorne because Thorne is too much of an antagonistic character and that would kind of ruin the neutrality of the moment.
