Loving it so far. Just the right level of romance, intrigue, history, and brutality. Love the Scottish history and great character development. Oh yeah, and Sam Heughen.

By the way ... the intro tune is not the version I know ? Have they changed it for the show ? It's supposed to be Bonny Prince Charlie being taken over to Sky for safety ? ..
it's ok I'm right I've Googled ... they adapted a couple of verses. To make it fit the show !

Yep, the gal that sings in and some guy that did music for Moore in the past put together the theme song. It's wildly popular, I love it, but it's not the same as Skyeboat Song

KK, peeps, tell all: What did ya think of Episode 9? So weird calling it that. What do you think of the "break" in episodes? I like it! I hate going a whole year without GOT. The baufin' scenes in here are fantastic, IMO. Jamie and Claire characters have so much chemistry, it's very intoxicating. Also, they are going away from the book a bit (and I am o.k. with that so far) in the whole "gold issue". Correct me if I am wrong. Also, I missed how Claire's ass is sore from "that scene", so she's on her horse and the other Highlanders are teasing her about it. Thoughts?

Toby McKenzie is awesome. I don't know how come he's always getting these hateful characters but this time I like Frank Randall. I hope the same actor playing Blackjack 200 yrs before is not foreshadowing of how Frank turns out to be some kind of evil person! and who DID he see looking at his wife?! It seems they can travel back too! I've got more but I don't want to spoil anything for peeps who haven't yet seen it!
Thanks, Buho Yep, TW, Toby is wonderful as Blackjack. The guy you love to hate. The author, Diana Gabaldon, states that Blackjack is a "straight" guy who is merely doing what happens in prison. I don't pretend to understand that. Rape is rape, whatever your sex. Anyway, yes, it would be nice to see Toby as a "good guy", we'll see if that happens. Muahahahah!

Interesting! Because the show (haven't read the books) definitely seems to suggest that Jack has some kind of sadistic homerotic fascination with Jamie.
Please don't ask me to back that up with examples cos ages ago & I can't remember.
Ok, I'm almost positive the redheaded lady who sells potions and plants knows something. She is way to ambiguous yet nosy about some things Claire is not speaking about. Like the time travel! I have a feeling she is one that knows about the magical properties about those stones or she wouldn't mention things like "real magic", "situations that cannot be explained logically" and so forth... while slowly poking and prodding Claire about where she is from. I'm going for the 4th ep today!
Yes, please, binge watch! It should start again soon, very excited for Season II.

My God, what a sadistic fuck BlackJack is. 100 lashes but no one understood that after I took off the skin of his bones "that boy and I were making something beautiful. A masterpiece!" Also: "Ever hit a woman? Try it Private. They are... Soft. Hit her again." Someone please shoot him. :vomit:
Yes, he is! That is Randall. And, he's not finished yet, TW! Just you wait, chickie. He'll make ya before Season 1 is over .

I don't think that cruel bastard can surprise me anymore. He ALMOST me me fall for it and I, like Claire I believed him sincere when he draw her portrait and mentioned sending her to where she wanted to go, back to Iverness. Ugh. Those hits were like he was hitting me in the stomach. Toby McKenzie is doing this character too well! That being said I'm not always able to binge watch and work is getting heavy so... But I'm going to see it hopefully by the time season 2 rolls over. I must say I don't trust Dugall much either. I can't say why though I really like the actor and the character too.

Oh episode 7 happened! And it was a treat finally someone's happy. A whole ep centered on a wedding was a bit much but it was so much fun. On the other hand: Poor Frank, I can't imagine how he's faring. And finally: I can't get a clear picture of how much time has passed since Claire has arrived in the 1740's.
I loved Jamie at the wedding. So...absolutely..gorgeous. I was speechless when I saw him, unf. I loved the Attorney in the Whorehouse and Dougal with the priest, so, so, funny

Yes! The lawyer buying wedding dress in the whorehouse was hilarious. I still have doubts about Dougal Ly. See he was trying his hand at Claire on Jaime's wedding day no less! I mean what the hell is THAT about?! Anyway, maybe he is just weird like that.
Holy ! If anyone is a Murtah fan, here he is all cleaned up for Season 2 :

Dougal likes strong, tough women, and Claire stands up to him. Plus, she is smart and he likes that as well. In his own twisted way, but he makes me hotter than a June Bride on a feather bed when he talks about, "plunging his cock into her sweet cake" :faints:

I feel a little dirty now I've seen Tobias meat and two veg . . I can never un see that !
I know, right? Talk about nudity in GOT! Yep, he states that that is all his junk I don't think we've seen full frontal on Jamie. You get chest and butt but no cock shots. Pretty close when he is hiding from the redcoats under the Mill :faints:

I know, right, SisY? Ugh, when I saw that deleted scene, I was screaming (not like Claire, of course ) "you didn't show us this? WTF!!!!!!" :faints:

I'm afraid now to watch the rest of the season! I have seen the 9th and I was rooting for Jaime to save her from Randall's clutches . I was also rooting for her to get to the stones while her 20th century husband was bumbling about there. When they heard each other I don't know. Is it really possible to root for two ships?! If Randall eventually rapes her after all time close calls she's had I will strangle something. :chicken:
There are parts that are long on pain and short on gain, much like GOT. There are a few little good things to come before the end of Season 1.

I'm torn girls. The 10th and 11th showed me no Frank. However I got to see Jaime kicking the shit out of the superstitious bastards who wanted to burn his Claire He showed up in the nick of time like an avenging angel and said he doesn't think so, just when his poor wife was getting her back black and blue for talking back at the judges. He so her! And I like that old rascal duke of Sandringham he's a riot.
I was though so heartbroken to see Claire not going to Frank. Loving two guys like that and being loved in return is hard. Hard work.
Forgot to mention Geillis! 1968! The witch came back to change the course of history and she knew Claire was a traveler like her. was sad to see her burn but damn it. Did she HAVE to kill Arthur?! Granted he was farting a LOT!

Lallybroch seems such an idyllic place. The sister is a hardass woman. I like her and her stubbornness and determination but she could be a little easier on Jamie since it wasn't he's fault he was away for 4 years I rather admire Ian for being able to navigate the tension between the two brothers because Claire is making everything worse. Not her fault really, she's from a different time and she's outspoken as the come

It was so hard to read about the prison scene in the books, it lasted forever, ugh. I think it took Game of Thrones to come out for Moore to be able to film this. When the first book came out, movie makers loved it and Diana got lots of offers to do a movie but she passed on that because there was just too much and she didn't want her story cut up. So, being close to Martin (they have breakfast once a month in New Mexico), when he got HBO behind his story, Moore contacted her and said he could get Starz to look at the scripts and see about coming on board. It was a big gamble for Starz, not the money HBO has. I asked Diana when I met her, what she thought about Martin having a "Jamie", she said, "Oh, does he? I hadn't noticed"! There is also a Brianna-named character coming, so to me, the parallels are more than coincidence . She also loved my Sassenach t-shirt, Sis-Y
