Lysa was still a relative. Off her rockers yes but she's not an as vindictive as Ramsay. Besides Roose had no trouble offing Robb yet he's going to show restraint when one of the few Stark heirs comes within his reach, sure.

If LF is smart, he'll know that Roose won't let Ramsay hurt Sansa. Also, LF is sending guards with Sansa, it's not like they can do whatever they want with her unless they want to fight the Vale.

I don't think Sansa will be in WInterfell as Sansa Stark. I think that will be part of Theon's choice and arc, whether to "out" Sansa, or not. I think he will choose not to.

LF is smart enough to where he wouldn't put Sansa anywhere near Winterfell whilst it was under control of the Bolton's. He'd wait for Stannis and Roose to wear each other out.

In the trailer she was in the crypts with her dark hair, she is totally incognito...

How does he know Stannis is marching on Winterfell? I seem Roose being surprised by it, though that might be wrong. I haven't read ADWD in a while.
And even if he did know Stannis' plan, Stannis' army is tiny as far as he knows.

Please. As if Littlefinger doesn't have a network of spies and connections across the land. He's one of the smartest and most intilligent players in the game.

But of course this is D & D's Littlefinger we're talking about, so he probably is completely oblivous to everything that's going on. Hell he simply brushed off seeing Arya in Tywin's chamber in S2 biggrin

I doubt his network is that good. Even Varys doesn't have that many spies, and probably none at the Wall. Unless Ollie is one of his little birds...

Cosca, I don't understand. Are you asking how does Petyr found out Stannis is marching on Winterfell? or how does Roose know. I don't think Petyr is mentioned in the books as knowing the North situation, though I could be wrong. Then again, Petyr is done with Sansa's POV in Feast. As for Roose, he has Arnolf Karstark trying to bait Stannis all over the North. And as soon as he found out Stannis took Deepwood Motte he knew the next thing will be Winterfell. Stannis cannot risk anything else. His army would be to depleted for fighting in different places. In fact Roose decided where he should make the stand himself, at Winterfell.

I was saying how does Petyr know about Stannis' plans, especially when he sends Sansa, which is presumably early in the season. I know how Roose knew

My point was more that because there's no way for LF to know that Stannis is attacking Wintefell, Al's point that LF isn't stupid enough to send Sansa to WF because of Stannis doesn't stand up.

Actually, Stannis is totally the type to sent ravens asking for everyone to bend the knee! If he got the Wall, he can send "requests" like that to the Vale easily! Especially with Lysa Arryn dead and Robin as the little lord that's supposed to now run the Vale. Ry, that's a terrible idea. Poor Sansa from the frying pan into the fire she goes! freakout

Finally watched the trailer in proper 1080p and a bunch more stuff I noticed...

-It is Mance who Melisandre is going to cook
-Jon, Tormund, and Edd are on the boat to Hardhome
-Sansa in the Winterfell crypts is walking to Lyanna's grave *cough* Rhaegar's harp *cough*
-Jamie fights Areo by the beach then Bronn comes in to fight instead
-Jamie fighting Obara in full Dornish guard attire
-The defenders of Dany in the pit besides Missandei, Grey Worm and Daario is Jorah (yay!) but no Barristan
-Stannis' war table shows his ships cutting off the Dreadfort from the sea, and his army dividing the Bolton forces at the Dreadfort from the ones at Winterfell
-The woman with the slaves reaching out to her is a red priestess in Volantis maybe

My predictions:

-Mance is cooked in short order
-Cersei uses the Faith Militant and Olyvar's testimony to absolve her from marrying Loras but in doing so dooms herself
-Tormund dies at Hardhome (I really, really hope not)
-Bronn dies in Dorne, possibly Areo
-Theon does not reveal who Alayne is to the Boltons
-Stannis captures Yara as a precursor for the battle of Winterfell which in turn brings the Greyjoys in S6.

Excitement building...

I'm loving this spec! Hadn't thought about it but it would be a very smart move. Excitement builing indeed!

Here here. I dont care two hoots about the whole of Dorne in general. And Arianne least of them all. No, that's a lie. Darkstar and areo hotah are a step below her, but ykwim.

Seems the show creators feel the same, most folks decrying her omission seem to want to see her "buxom and beautiful" appearance, rather than her relevance to the plot.

Distilling her among the sand snakes is pure brilliance IMO.

I like Arianne mostly because she is the heir to the Dornish rule and she brings in an interesting and novel idea: women in politics Dornish style. Unlike the rest of the kingdoms, Dorne has this equality where gender-matters-not as long as you are the first in line to rule. And that plot where she thinks Doran somehow wants to change that yet he proves to her that no, he's perfectly happy with how things made me very happy. It really is not about her buxom and bottom for me teehee

I'm sure there are others who think like me. I've seen them!!! They are not a myth No doubt Weiss and Benioff will readjust and make the Sand Snakes a powerful force and probably make Myrcella queen, but it is not quite the same as Myrcella will have to fight for it if she wants the IT and she'll rule Dorne by marriage not by birth. I'm pretty sure Unsullied won't care about all this though. So everything will come out right.

It's cool idea, but it doesn't make her a good character. I don't think a story should introduce a major character solely as a vehicle for a single idea (this applies to Quentyn too). She has doesn't have much personality, and she's done practically nothing for two books.

HouI disagree with Cosca!!! (That's so shocking) I think Arianne is ok. She's young, passionate, strong willed and has this wild idea that her father will cut her out somehow, that he refuses to act and make a show of strength against the IT for Oberyn's death and she decides to put this crazy scheme in practice. It's a rebellious youth with lots of power. The fact she's a woman only makes it more interesting, plus brings in the Dornish law portion I found so interesting. In fact the whole queenmaker plot would have been probably a stroke of genius if Tyrion would have decided to undertake it really. But this is a new character, late in the game, who employs HUGE DARK NIPPLES blah, blah, blah... You've heard it all before! Seriously though, I thought she was interesting and a fresh perspective from the always oppressed youth with hit lists, saviour of people, dreaming of knights who save damsel in distress etc. It's a moot point. I agree with Sid. Indira Varma taking over some of Arianne portion will be awesome!

I hit reply instead of quote.  Sorry.  This is in response to Tormund's Woman's post about Arianne:

I like that Arianne can legitimately inherit, but beyond that, she struck me as a bit of a spoiled rich girl who gets mad at her daddy when she thinks he's trying to take away her inheritance.  That may be overstating it a bit, but it was along those lines for me.  While they had less development in the already published material, I was far more intrigued by the Sand Snakes, and can't wait to see them in action in Season 5, and what they'll be getting up to in TWOW.

Not much shown of Doran yet, I liked that he was a seemingly kindler, but just as manipulative as Tywin.
I have been a fan of Siddig since his deep space 9 days...so lets see what he brings to the table.

Nymeria, I think most of the people I know that read the last two books were against Dorne. Honestly, I was the odd one out and yours seemed to be the popular opinion! But I stand by what I felt and still feel about the whole of Dorne and its characters. And I was so happy I've met Jent and Al here! I mean I couldn't believe someone else liked Dorne and Arianne. Dorne is a lot more interesting than most of the Greyjoys, Quentin was such a colossal waste of time I could not believe it.

It seems like a lot who loved Dorne didn't particularly like the Greyjoys, and vice versa. For of us who are in the former camp, and I'm one of them, I'm really happy the direction they decided to take with season 5. I can understand why the latter camp would be pissed, though.

I actually really liked her as a character and her interactions with Doran were some of the best scenes in AFFC IMO, looks aside. But since they're cuttin. Aegon and (looks like) the whole Queenmaker plot, she really wouldn't be doing anything. If it was up to me, I'd have cut Ellaria and sent Arianne with Oberyn to King's Landing (which would actually make some sense since she's the heir)

Quentyn was okay as a character, but his plot was a complete disappointment. So pointless to follow him as a POV... The only Quentyn chapter we needed was the last one. The rest were pretty much filler, or could have been told throuh other POVs.
