Jent! Completely right you are! It's just that every time they mentioned the Sand Snakes so far they really meant the three we have already. I completely forgot Oberyn said he has 8. Then there's still hope for her
Ugh. Oldtown is so damn lame. At least we probably won't have to endure Sam's endless boat ride.
THANK YOU YES.
On another note, I really doubt we'll see another Sand snake as Sarella/Alleras bladibla, I think it's far more likely for them to use one of the three we were already introduced to.
Don, apparently Fat Pink Mast happens in tonight's ep. Some recapp.com site who only says when actors are partially or fully nude (I know, right?! ) has published the news a while ago before the season started, that it will happen. I'm starting to believe it because before we even knew the Sansa goes to WF storyline, they said something about Sophie showing some skin before her wedding (the bath scene). I still have a hard time believing that somehow they get away with spoilers for this type of situation.
She's definitely flying off on Drogon. That is the single reason the Pit scene in the books is so amazing, not that Drogon saves the day. D&D will keep it.
That said, I can easily see her returning to Meereen in the finale, after (please please please) some awesome cameo appearances of Viserys and Drogo. I also think Jorah is toast.
I really can't see them wasting all that time. Maybe she can fly off and land just outside Meereen. Or start burninating motherfuckers.
Potential spoilers from set photos below! You were warned
Spoiler
There was a picture of a dragon lair in some grassy hill. It was filled with scorched bones. I doubt they'll show Drogon alone in his lair, so that must be where he flies with Dany.

Nym, if the Citadel was gonna be part of Sam's storyline, why hasn't he sailed off yet? Either he does that at the end of the season or I don't see it happening at all.

So it seems no Citadel, might be completely out of the show it seems.
Huh?
I second this. Sam's earlier scene was obvious setup. Not only did he mention the Citadel, but also that he originally wanted to be a Maester. Now that Aemon is dead, the Watch needs a new Maester and I'll be damned if Jon doesn't send Sam to fill that role.

Ah right. Well, that settles that then. Sigh. Hopefully she's back in Meereen soon

Yep, not to mention Aemon told Sam to get Gilly and the baby south before it was too late, then Gilly was attacked. I'm still not 100% Sam will be going, although I'm pretty sure he will, but I'm at about 99.9999999999999999% sure we're getting Oldtown and the Citadel.

Oh, please, D&D make it so! Bring back for a cameo, that would just be geekgasm worthy

I just wanna D&D for making Dany meet Tyrion, what a wonderful way to cut the Meereenese knot using dynamite. I bet in the pooks this reunion won't happen after 700 pages of bullshit.
Heh, I just realized "The Gift", was not the land South of the Wall, but Tyrion instead. He was the gift.

What I don't get is why they didn't just make Jon send Sam off to the Citadel to become a maester before he left? if anything they've made Jon out to be a bit of an idiot trotting off while Aemon is on his death bed and leaving no precautions in measure for his demise. But of course D & D are in too much of a haste and hurry to think these matters over like logical people. Book Pace> Show Pace
The Sansa stuff is easily the worst part of this season, I fucking despise it with a passion. "Oh hey Ramsay let me tug on your tail so I have to endure even more brutal nights of rape with you." She's just been used as a pawn to make Ramsay into the new Joffrey, it's so freaking obvious and makes a complete mockery of the universe. And I can already envision what's going to happen when The Battle of Winterfell happens, Brienne's going to infiltrate the city in order to save Sansa, excuse me while I vomit.
So it looks like they're going to turn Bronn into Oakheart after all, except this time it's going to be less more believable now that Tyne has already poisoned him. Ugh Arianne how I miss you
The stuff with Dany and Daairo in bed was so ridiculous. One minute she's serving the masters to her dragons on a silver platter and then the next she's all lovey dovey and gooey eyed after a quick romp
Al, I think they did show Maester Aemon a favor and the honor of having him dying at the Wall between the brothers of the NW. It was his whole life after all. So Sam stayed with him and deliver that beautiful speech. "He was the blood of the dragon. And now his fire went out. And now his Watch has ended." It now logically forces Jon to send him to Oldtown, because the NW no longer has a Maester. Oldtown will be awesome. I can feel it.

I have no problem with Aemon dying at Castle Black, I just wish they could of had a scene with Jon and Sam where he planted the seeds about becoming the next Maester. The fact Jon rode off without putting any precautions in measure is rather lazy IMO
My expectations for Oldtown won't be that high, I don't really expect them to dedicate a lot of the budget to giving us a true representation of the city. It'll still be cool to see it in the show though They just better give me one episode where Sam visits Horn Hill and we see Randyll Tarly!
Randyll Tarly! I wonder about that. I expected him to show up at some point but not yet. Olenna is the only Reach character recognizable in the show from the older generation in KL. Mace is just a forgettable clown in his way to Braavos.

Loved that too. D&D done an amazing work of cutting of the nonsense and getting to the point, i really think they're saving Asoiaf from the eternal limbo that it had been condemned to by Gurm. And the end will be awesome.
I'm just happy we're back to the D&D episodes. Cogman is too inconsistent (he had some of the best eps, but he had two of the show's biggest catastrophes which are the Dorne and Yara fight scenes). With D&D you can trust the quality will be consistent.
And I think this season so far wasn't the best, but judging by episode 7 the last three could take it there. Daznak, Hardhome, Stannis vs Ramsay, the Walk, Varys' massacare (which I think will involve even bigger characters in the show), Sansa and Theon hopefully getting a satisfying climax. Will be great.
Disagree completely, this season has felt extremely rushed and hastily written.
Actually the main complaint i heard early this season was how things were going too slow, so it's great they increased the pace and got things done a lot faster than the mountain that doesn't write.
But if you don't like it Al, you can always wait for the pooks!

To be fair, lots of scenes get shuffled behind the scenes. And Dorne has been weak since episode one, so it isn't just Cogman. On the commentary tracks, the directors and writers sometimes make note when scenes have gotten moved around. It is just the scale of the show and it happens.

I agree with this SO much.
Unpopular opinion, I know, but to me Cogman is a decent, yes, but really overrated writer. I think much of it has to do with his "Keeper of the lore" persona that fans have perpetuated, and seeing him as some balancing force to D&D's "deviations". When the truth is, like Don said, a lot of the scenes get shuffle around and even so, I never saw Cogman's episodes as being soo much more truthful to the books - as if this could be a guarantee of quality. And we saw this now, with two episodes in a row that were penned by him and weren't amazing by any means, and with one great episode by D&D, obviously the root of all evil.
I was thinking, now that Sansa found out Jon Snow is Lord Commander, she might message him for aid? Ramsay's letter was a big motivator for Jon in da pooks, so a mocking letter from Ramsay or a plead of help from Sansa might do the trick.
Just a thought.

Haha! We just talked about Randyll Tarly. Looks like it's coming. Also one Greyjoy in DA HOUSE! I'm thinking Euron. Pfft Al I hope you are still alive after you read this casting news.
I was really hoping the nuncles were going to be cut.
Oh well, maybe D&D will be able to make something entertaining out of that mess, like they did with Meereen. And I'm actually looking forward to meeting Randyll Tarly, legendary asshole.

"Consistent quality" is not what springs to mind when I think of D & D. They've been incredibly inconsistent since The Red Wedding.
