jonsnow was freaking out about King Butters! "Wut? He let his wife be arrested? WTF". So, that was great, loved the dialogue between the Queen of Thorns and Cersei. Loved Bronn singing, although he was injured Poor Jorah. Didn't know his Pa passed I like he and Tyrion together. Areo doing his job. Would like more Doran. Like Sansa getting the dark out of her hair and becoming Sansa again. Putting Miranda in her place, woo hooo! Pretty good episode. Oh, loved the Faceless Room, great job on that, D&D.

Almost everything worked this episode, great stuff all around.

BUT, what the hell Jaime, kidnapping in broad daylight? WHAT was THAT? The fight scene was cool and all, but it made little sense.

People will be up in arms with that last scene, but suck it up, it is game of thrones, bad things happen to good people. There will be a payoff, no worries.

Rewatching right now...more detailed stuff later.

Dorne blows, its the Bran of S5.

Enjoyed the rest. Really like this director.

Fuck her. Fuck her right in the pussy.

More later.

Aryas training was great, her trying to fool Jaquen and failing, but when she embraced the lie with the dying girl great scene. And the "room of faces" that followed looked wonderful.

Tyrion and Ser Jorah. Poor Jorah's fate when he learned of his fathers death, and Tyrion got the laugh of the night with his "think again!!!" line....haha Tyrion the tripod!

What the hell is Littlefinger planning? It seems he will be victorious no matter who wins the battle of Winterfell. I either he or Sansa will rule over the North. But it seems an awful lotta balls to juggle.

Dorne, ay ay ay, not working for me. Jaime and Bronn trying to do a kidnapping in BROAD DAYLIGHT? The Snakes attacking at exactly the same time? Come on! At least the fight was very well done, but too much boneheadedness and coincidences. Doran better come in and save this mess, cuz he is the only hope for this storyline.

BUT loved hearing the new Dornishmens wife song! Finally a song that is NOT "Bear and Maiden fair" or "Rains of Castimere!"

Hahaha so good to see Gramma Ollenna again "can smell the shit from five miles away!" The hearing was very well done, with nice slow simmering intesity underneath, King Butters, oh man, over his head again. Cersei's smug look of victory was wonderful.

Sansa's wedding was both dark and beautiful, her dress was stunning. The bedding scene was disturbing and upsetting, but it was meant to be. I feel it will be a major catalyst in Sansa's storyline. The girl is gone, she is a woman now and should now step up and make fools pay. Extra props to Theons acting, the look on his face sold the scene, amazing.

Yeah the Dornish story line feels rushed. We really haven't had time with anyone to develop the characters and people aren't really vested in it at all. Hoping more for the future, and OF COURSE...more Doran.

Dorne is a wasted storyline. After Oberyn created such a sense of mystique about Dorne last season, the show has completely failed to follow through. The Bronn/Jaime/Sand Snakes scene was laughable. Maybe it's what Sid says. It's so rushed that we aren't vested in the characters or the storyline. As far as I'm concerned, they should have left Dorne out completely. But since they didn't, I'm hoping now that all the cloak and dagger stuff has ended, we'll get some meaningful scenes that actually advance the story a bit.

Sansa has been a disappointment the last two episodes. After her scheming with LF in the crypts, I kind of expected a version of Marge and Joffrey. Instead, she could barely hold it together at that dinner with Reek, and then said nothing about Reek giving her away at her wedding or being in the room while Ramsay consummates their wedding. I guess I thought she had progressed a bit further and would try to manipulate events as much as possible. My hope is that she has played meek to lull Ramsay into complacency. At least Ramsay doesn't see her as a challenge. I'm glad chaos is coming her way.

Jorah and Tyrion are growing on me. Their banter seemed too forced at first, but they're getting better. But the pirate storyline is a silly way to get them to Meereen. It feels contrived. At least Tyrion got to deliver that line about his kraken Perfect.

Cersei's is so irretrievably screwed. She has underestimated both the High Sparrow and LF, and it's going to be ugly for her in the end. Not to mention olenna KL is so much fun this season. Who knew that getting most of the characters out of KL would make it so much more entertaining.

And Tommen. I'm embarrassed for him. I'm hoping that a few days without humpo will allow enough testosterone to build up to cure his impotence.

All in all, a decent episode. I didn't love it, but there were good moments...mostly Jorah's face and Reek's. All the feels.

The actress who plays Obara is awful, she might actually be worse than Emilia Clarke.

I thought the episode was decent aside from a few missteps. The Sansa shit though, ugh it might of put me off watching the rest of this show for years. I can't excuse it, it was completely gratuitous.

Well, that was rough. Before I judge their choice with the ending, I want to see where Sansa takes it. It was definitely a powerful scene, and well acted. God, Alfie is amazing. And Sophie is also perfect. But Alfie...

...Anyway, aside from that. I loved the episode. Dorne remains blah, which is a shame since the book version had some intrigue and 3 dimensional characters. It feels like all of the Dornish are underdeveloped, and it was hard to care about them in that scene. If they had more screentime before, say Oberyn's funeral, it could have even been good stuff. This is a whole world worse and more shallow than book Dorne, IMO. And did Nym steal Myrcella? Hopefully that will help develop those two at least.

Arya. Man oh man. The face room! Loved it, and love Maisie's scene with the girl. They are doing justice to this arc, and I'm really glad about that. Cersei wrecking shop is also great- some payback for her is nice. Olenna won't be happy though. Cersei's going to get fucked, and soon. And Littlefinger... It all makes sense now. What a bastard. Sansa really was just a tool to him. At this point, no matter what happens, Littlefinger has secured the North. Either through Sansa (and supporting Stannis or the Boltons) or by storming it with the knights of the Vale and giving Sansa to Cersei. He can basically choose. I doubt he could go through with killing Sansa, though.

Theory time: maybe he isn't THAT much of a cold bastard, maybe he's tricking Cersei and intends to use his army to help Stannis. Maybe even a Trojan Horse deal by "aiding" the Boltons a la Tywin and the Mad King.

I am actually glad the cloak-and-dagger stuff is done in Dorne. Now everyone will get dragged before Doran, I do hope they have something good for him, since he has been the best/only good thing Dorne thusfar.

Littlefinger is amazing, through pure scheming he has secured the Vale and now he will pretty much get a lock on a North, no matter how the battle turns out. If Stannis or the Boltons win, he will sweep in and crush either weakened army, and even if that doesn't succeed, Sansa will be there to pick things up.

Biggest laughs last night:

1. Tyrion doesn't have a dwarf sized cock. ( oh my! sausage)
2. Lady Olenna HATES the smell of King's Landing! poop

Hilarious!

The saddness/regret on Jorah's face when he found out about his pops....

The look of 'wtf did I just do' on Sansa's face after telling off Myranda....

Alfie Allen.

This episode had three amazing scenes where the actors nailed it.

She cut Bronn with one of her daggers, but other than that she didn't do much. But it does make me worry that Bronn's been poisoned and isn't long for this world.

Hey Al! Emilia has been great this season. She only really sucked in season 2, and that was mostly because of the scripts.

Cary - I honestly can't tell the other two apart. Obara stuck with me because of he woeful performance.

You guys really think Emilia's been good? The only scene I liked her in was when we got that small glimmer of Aerys, and I chalk that more up to me wanting to see Dany do a heel turn than her acting.

Man if Bronn dies down to poison that would be a bummer, he deserves to go out in a blaze of glory!

Obara is not at fault, her material has been anemic, don't forget that actress was nominated for an Oscar, so she does have the chops.

You're right, even Indira Varma has come out looking really bad this season. Having them use thick accents also doesn't help matters.

Again, I agree with Ry, but the episode pretty much stops for me right there. I thought it was rather...dull? And kinda fast paced even though we only had half of the storylines.

Winterfell was the best part about it, IMO. The wedding scene in the godswood was very, very well done. Truly fantastic directing and acting by Alfie and Sophie, and what a beautiful costume they designed for Sansa. Oh well, Episode 6 usually turns out to be like this every year I think.

The bedding scene wasn't *that* bad, come on. From what I've been reading I was expecting much worse. Sure, it was disturbing, but it could have been downright brutal, and it wasn't. A good choice by the director, and hopefully a major turning point for Sansa. Also, Myranda is dead meat this season, mwahaha.

Jorah and Tyrion are becoming better and better, so this is how they get to Meereen. Good way to speed up their trip.

The trial didn't really work for me, but Olenna had some good bits with Cersei ("curious choice of companion" I laughed so much) and Cersei is sooooo incredibly dumb if she believes she can't fall in the same trap Margaery did. Oh it'll be glorious. Come on, Lancel, just spill out the beans.

Dorne was meh all around, but I blame the editing, it seems like something that was heavily chopped off in the cutting room and then thrown together. Bronn should really fall sick with poisoing, otherwise that shot of him getting cut wouldn't make any sense. And I was hoping to see Areo in action.

The room of faces or how do you call it, that was soooo eerie and cool. But again, Arya bores me to tears this season, so...meh.

Littlefinger, I won't even begin to guess his plans, but man, what a character. Sometimes I can even say he's the best in the entire series. I'm sure tho he won't stay with the Lannisters long. Their reign is ending and he can definitely see that, especially now that Cersei has given him a status on both Kevan and Jaime. He'll be there to turn the tide and collect the spoils, just like he did at Blackwater.

I agree with Macha about Arya's arc ghis season. Her scene with the child was blah and should not have been.  Only scenes I liked was when she kept Needle and when she finally got her sassy little ass handed to her by Jaqen.

I hope you step on a nail you scoundrel

If anything Bronn has been the only highlight from that deviation. But I guess I can see your point, less is more, you don't want to milk a character too much just because of how popular he is.

I still love how Bronn ended up acquiring land and naming bastards after Tyrion biggrin

The whole season is a bit slow, because they are based on WAY slower books. I am amazed they managed to make engaging television at all from them.

The only GOT seasons that weren't slow were 2 and 4.

Season 5 isn't much slower than, say, season 3. I think the payoff will be big, and in the end it won't matter that it took time to get there.

Euron would of been far more interesting than Obara and her spear. Especially if they cast Purefoy or Maads faint

Yup you know the show screwed up when even I can't defend em. Like Ry said, Dorne is the Bran of this season.
It is such a shame as they did such a good job with Oberyn last season, oh well, they can't all be winners.

They might course-correct in the next few episodes, but at this point I doubt it will bounce back in an amazing way.

I'm hoping at least Doran impresses, because Ellaria sucks major wang (and Indira isn't even acting well) and the Sand Snakes are hardly characters at this point (seems D&D included them for the fanfare). Oh, book Dorne, I miss you...

And by the way, I don't think it's too late for Euron- depends on how important he is in TWOW/ADOS. Seems like Oldtown is happening in season 6, so some Iron Islands isn't too impossible.
