"I have to say this argument is the one that personally hurts me the most, because it relies on the ugly and sexist belief that being a victim of sexual assault means you are weak or lack agency. The notion that Sansa is weak or somehow failed herself by getting raped is victim-blaming, flat out. As Laura Bradley at Slate noted, it’s arguable that this whole storyline shows how strong Sansa is, because she went into this with open eyes and a will to survive—and to try to take Winterfell back."

I agree with thatxarticle Dolan. And on second watch, the Dorne fight scene wasn't bad at all. The Dornish characters still suck (especially Ellaria), though.
The whole Dorne plot can be saved if Doran calls both Jamie and the Sand Snakes dumbasses for having the worst plan of all time (kidnapping in broad daylight, really?)
One thing though, Hotah threatened Jamie with his longaxe and says "when you were whole, it would've been a good fight". Ummm how the hell did he know that was Jamie Lannister? He literally stopped the fight 5 seconds ago, he should have no idea who these people were.

I think Doran was prepared for both attacks, at least that's what I got from his scene with Hotah earlier on, or Hotah simply knew Jaime from before - Bronn himself said Jaime is one of the most recognizable people in Westeros.

I haven't read the article because I'm too leery of the spoilery interwebz, but this particular argument seems like a straw man to me. Are there really choruses of people on the Internet blaming Sansa for getting raped? She had many opportunities to manipulate the situation in Winterfell to her advantage, and she hasn't. Her wedding night was not one of those opportunities. To argue otherwise is laughable.
I think it's hard to view that scene outside of the bigger picture. She had no real options that wouldn't have really revved up his sadism. Not laughable at all.
Like Omar said (I think) the SS fight scene wasnt as bad as originally thought.
I really liked Lena this episode. Loved her facial expressions and eyebrow.
Didnt realize the slavers were originally going back to Volantis. May have took a sip. Makes Tyrions pleading about Jorah being a fighter make more sense and shows us more proof that Tyrion would be the best person to advise Dany.
I didnt get as aroused for Sansas bedding as I did the first time. Must be bored already....

I re-watched the ep again as well, except I just turned it off before the shit Samsey arc started.
I do like the fact they were making Tyrion question Jorah as to why Dany would be such a good ruler of Westeros when her father was a madman and she's never even stepped foot in the country. I need to find myself a cock merchant though
Couldn't help but laugh when the Dorne scene came on again, and when they cut to Obara's face after Hotah arrived I lost it. Her silly mean mug just looks ridiculous. BTW I still don't get why they recast Myrcella, the new actress doesn't seem to be anything special.
Also Jerome Flynn's singing voice impregnated five woman when that episode aired.
Other than the Dorne stuff it was a pretty good episode, I think the final 4 eps is where things get really interesting. I feel this season is a lot like season 2 where pretty much everything is a setup that pays off in the end.
At least I hope so, we shall see.

They have been doing a great job with the House of Black & White stuff, I admit that. Doesn't hurt that Maisie has blossomed into a superb little actress.
BTW why the fuck is Adewal Akinnuoye-Agbaje being wasted as a random pirate slaver? That man should be playing Hotah!

I know right?! On both counts. I mean DeObia Oparei looks the part and has the seriousness that goes with Hotah, so I wouldn't change that, but I was expecting a bigger part for AAA! I'm looking at this like Daniel Craig playing a Stormtrooper in the upcoming SW 7.
I love how Maisie is growing (literally and figuratively) into the part myself. I was told many consider it a slow portion, but honestly I think her HoB&W stuff is coming along perfectly. If she starts killing people right away, who would believe it?! I mean all assassins have training stages, no? I wouldn't know of course but it probably is just like any other job!

Jon's storyline has also been very good, and Stannis has been the best ever too.......Bran has also been amazing!

I agree, TW. It's not like they're just going to do a montage and then Arya is a super BAMF. But I'm wondering how they'll take advantage of Meryn Trant being in Braavos if she's just barely getting started. She needs to kill him, dammit!

Bran's storyline this season has been so engrossing!! That scene where he shot fireballs from his nipples kicked ass.

From your keyboard to Weiss & Benioff's ears, Basi! I hope she's getting the Cock Merchant face
