Pretty awesome show! Watched the first 4 so far and am enjoying it a lot, although the fightscenes get a bit repetitive. I never watched the other Marvel series, how does it stack up against those?
Four eps in and I have to say, it is pretty good. Jesus! the violence of the Kingpin. I thought he's going to break the car door Also, can I say how awesome Rosario Dawson is here?! Love her. And the ginger minge from True Blood is not bad either. I do wonder if Matt will get his costume this season though. Talk about costume it looks amazing in the intro. What little we can see. And the intro is one of the best I've seen in a while for a series.
I've seen 8 now, I really dislike D'onofrio as an actor and this role has not changed that viewpoint. Very silly and over the top. I like the actor playing Daredevil, but the character is quite boring and his skills have become a bit ridiculous. The roundhousekicks or whatever you call it make me laugh everytime and he can hear everything in the city but suddenly a bunch of policecars with sirens around the corner take him by surprise. Still the show has a lot of great scenes and the directing is really good so I keep watching for sure.
I have seen just one ep where he is introduced, Japie. I also think he's overplaying a bit the repressed anger issues/ insecurities with Vanessa lady so far but it is too early to tell for me. I haven't seen the actor before in any major or supporting role. Ok, maybe I did but I don't count the big brother from The Break Up as one of those! Anyway, I'm reserving judgement on his Kingpin until later on. I liked a LOT Michael Clarke Duncan's take on the DD movie. Almost as much as I didn't Ben Affleck's Daredevil But Colin Farrell aced the Bullseye IMO.

I was trying to remember where I saw Charlie Cox, and lo and behold he played the pussy piano teacher in the Stephen Hawking biopic...he is amazing in his physicality in this role...kudos!

That's where you remember him from? Charlie was the Irish dude fro Boardwalk Empire!
Al, I don't know about that. I think with Ben for me it was a bit more complicated than the script. Anyway, I have seen the whole thing. Binge watch is a bitch. It slowed down a bit and some eps were better than the others. I didn't like how they introduced the nurse and then completely went the other way with it. The Kingpin didn't improve on the overplaying his anger BUT the actor grew on me. The story leaves open some threads I suppose for the second season. Biggest shocker came from Karen Deborah Ann Woll kills it. Also: if there's a second season, I'm watching it.
I don't know when we will get the second season. They did the Jessica Jones and Netflix will go an make some other less famous Marvel heros series but yes, I'm expecting season 2. Give JJ a chance if you liked this one Jent. It has a bit of a noir feel to it.
Jon Bertahl (sp) was great, I was kinda suprised his arc was only 4 episodes. His final monologue was amazing, and managed to make you feel sorry for someone who gunned down a zillion people.

Don, I think the Punisher is in the works to get his own spin off in the Netflix series of Marvel comics adaptations, so it makes sense it will have a limited run on Daredavil.
Also finished episode 5 and man, season 2 is perfection so far. The directing is also a step up from season 1 and Elektra and the Punisher are both amazing
Just finished episode 9, and this season has been a home run so far. Just keeps getting better and better, and doesn't miss a beat. Great pacing so far, too, and I love the Kingpin cameo (I hope he will be the main villain in season 3 and hire Bullseye), and Bernthal has definitely earned a solo series, at least a mini-series if they don't want to overdo it.

You can almost be sure next season will either be Bullseye or the "Born Again" saga from the 80s. Both involve Kingpin.

Only seen the first three episodes of Season 2, but it's great stuff. I like that they don't shy away from the horror of what the Punisher does, and they've made needed improvements to the Daredevil suit. Others may find discussions of the morality of vigilante violence tedious but I love that stuff.
Holy fuck, that stairwell fight.

Not to spoil anything. I'll just say... the prison fight scene. Trust me.

"Oh Shit!" That's my reaction at Elektra's personality and overall actions. I'm hoping it will put some spice into the love life of the characters as I was a fervent supporter of the nurse and DD while Karen with Matt does nothing for me. I don't know. It just doesn't. Curious to see who the Yakuza who's not Yakuza is?!
However the Punisher storyline has quite the bang
Spoiler
I got to the part that where he's "sticking it to Reyes" with the deal... I don't think Reyes is only motivated just by career advancement. There is something terribly fishy about her whole treatment of Grotto and Punisher
And finally, my take on the moral questions that arise from "I'm not killing people while you do": I think weird because many of the people DD puts out of business are suffering trauma that probably cost the victim their life in the end. I don't see how kicking people down the stairs and beating them to a pulp NEVER cause anyone to lose their life. That's just tremendously serendipitous I think Matt is just deluding himself.

I feel like you're always meant to take superhero franchises at face value when they say their hero does not kill, otherwise it kinda falls apart. Unless they're deliberately showing otherwise that is.
I'm sure you could say it's part of Matt's supersenses that he knows when to stop as well

I did kind of notice that. I mean, how did that *not* break that guy's neck?

And I'm also done. That ending...
I'm amazed at just how much the status quo changed this season. This isn't just another one of those procedural shows.
The Punisher was great, Elektra was amazing. The Hand as a whole were a cool enemy, though I think they could have been far more fleshed out. The fight scenes were top notch, though I was feeling done with ninjas by the end of the season.
And I also highly doubt we'll get season 3 before the Defenders
I think the first season of the Defenders will have the Hand and Elektra as the villains. Daredevil is way out of his league dealing with those guys alone.
And on season 3, I definitely think that it'll be Fisk and Bullseye, with a lot of Karen's backstory and some Gladiator/Owl as well.

In season 1 he kills Nobu in the same episode he and Father Luwyn talk about the morality of taking a life and the fact Nobu doed is never really addressed by Matt afterwards. So either he's deluding himself or the ones he kills by accident/in self defense don't count. As long as he's doing his best to not kill anyone.
The Hand is way to much for DD. I can't imagine how he's going to fight them all on his own. So far he's not with the Punisher, he's not with Elektra, he's definitely not with Stick. I hope he's getting some huge superpower that allows him invincibility or immortality Wilson Fisk ep was pretty incredible! I thought he was totally bullshitting Frank about Dutton. Turns out he wasn't but that just makes way for the Blacksmith. I fucking hate those anyway So hopefully Frank gets his man. Looks like the eps are rapidly getting more and more elaborate but cannot imagine what will top ep 9 (I think that's the one I'm at, the one with Fisk in prison).
