You guys are nuts, Arya's arc has been some of the best stuff this season. They've completed nailed the tone and atmoshphere of Bravos and the House of Black & White.

Training stages of any journey are never the most entertaining, but they have made Arya's stuff quite engaging IMO.

I'd have to agree with both of you. They have nailed the tone and atmosphere of Arya's storyline, AND it has been slow. Books 4 and 5 have overall slower, more drawn out plots and unfortunately that has translated to screen.
I rewatched this episode again and I think I enjoyed it more than on first watch, however I also did skip the family BBQ. It probably ranks as my #1 for disturbing scene yet, which is odd because we've seen some really horrendous stuff while watching this show. I think I can only attribute it to having lawful good characters die. I've always been a fan of Jorah, Davos, Shireen, and the other TRULY good characters. They may not have always been this way, but at least they've realized the path they need to take now and stick true to it.
+1 for Arya . I love her scenes. And I don't think they are slow either or at least no more slower than they need to be for a training. Tom and Maisie duo are good for me.

Just to be clear, I've liked Arya very much throughout this season and the series as a whole. But I didn't like how they included her this episode. It was annoying, and I blame the director and editor, not Maisie.
I blame D&D on Arya's annoyances this ep. For someone who's training to be one of the best assassins in the world, they made her a terrible spy. But I think it'll pay off next episode, so I'll forgive it
I'd much rather see Bran training to... whatever. I don't care about Braavos or about the Faceless Men for that matter, and since she never threw away Needle is so painfully obvious she's going to abandon her training along the way.
So what if she kills Meryn Trant? Is that supposed to be the climax of her story this season? Come on, Trant is a minor character no one cares about. He could have just disappeared from the series altogether and no one would have known.

Macha, you ok?

Have Macha and Al switched bodies? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
Bwaha, neah. That's me equally hating Arya's Braavos chapters in the books *and* in the show.
I never said she should be a master spy with tons of experience. That story is just badly written, with nothing really at stake. She was well on her way on becoming a killer even in Westeros. Braavos - however exotic, fun and mysterious as a location - did no more for her character so far than Winterfell did for Brienne, for example. At least for Brienne there is still some potential of big things happening, and when I say big I mean it in a way that actually has an impact on the story. Meryn Trant sadly doesn't.

I'm with you, Jent. She is supposed to be becoming a super badass and the script has just not been there. On a side note, outside of GOT, she has a bit of a big mouth problem and needs a PR person/wardrobe consultant. Just my bitchy
