Wasn't it?! I thought it was quite good. Paul becoming a dad while clearly having huge emotional and sexual identity stuff that he has to work out. And Ani getting suspended was pretty intense too. Her talk with her sister had an interesting vibe. I wonder what the hell happened in that hippie family environment?! I thought everything was supposed to be "pot", "make love not war" and "peace" and "karma" but the truth is her dad hanged around some dubious people. Anyway, I mean it looks like all the main character's lives got shaken in short order. And never mind the shootout. It looked to be such a regular take down. And boy it turned out awful. Sidenote: I am curious about the shrink and how he comes into this story.
Rhaegar, despite wounding Robert, was struck down with a massive blow from Robert's warhammer, which scattered the rubies encrusted in Rhaegar's armor under the water. Rhaegar died with Lyanna Stark's name on his lips.
I missed the first 15 min! however I liked the turn of situation! In random order: Roy is fucked. He killed probably someone that Frank wanted to make disappear. Paul & his mom scene That woman is a total fuck up. I have no idea where the hell would Dixon know about the diamonds?! Probably on Chessani payroll looking for them straight from the start. And I laughed my butt off at the shrink! All that bravado and psychology was lost on Velcoro doc spilled the beans about the whole affair faster than one could say "nose job". Got to see the ep proper.
I still say I'm enjoying it. And now that the reveals are starting to happen, and people are starting to realize the narrative isn't exactly what they think it is... now that is making me even more intrigued.
And JUST WHO DID Frank have Roy take out?

Loved Rick getting his ass beat. I'm going to be the bad girl/guy here and wish someone would just put some duct tape on Vaughn's wife's mouth. She bugs the out of me. I have never liked her, she's trash. KK, so that rant over, yep, TW, Taylor's mom is certifiable. I think he wanted to off her and I wouldn't cry if he did. Rotten woman, "I was a dancer, you ruined my career". Ugh

Ry, Rick (like Ly said) got his ass beat by Roy. It's cause he is doing the plastic surgery on all the girls the Chessani's run through those parties where the son meets all the "influential" peeps and Velcoro caught him walking in one of those parties and looking at the girls like a buyer looks at horses see what's wrong with them. So Roy followed up on it and beat more info out of him. Don't think he's the killer.
Oh I could do the dirty talk, not a problem. However, I don't want the "large" meat like that. Not the Lincoln Tunnel

Watched an episode from S3 of Curb. Before the episode they had a little montage of HBOs "current" programming. Amazing how far the quality has gone down today.
Then:
Sopranos
The Wire
Deadwood
Curb
Six Feet Under
Carnivale
Entourage
Now:
GoT
True Detective
The Leftovers
Girls
Silicon Valley
Veep
The Brink
Ballers
Every one of the THENs were amazing series (well Entourage was good for the first couple of seasons). I can honestly say that only Veep and GoT come close to the quality of the THENs. Silicon Valley has its moments, but still pales in comparison. I cant watch Ballers or the Leftovers. Girls has lost its charm.
Im getting old and I have cataracts

I agree with Cary. I think taking out Deadwood for John from Cincinnati was the worst move they've done, possibly ever. I don't think I've seen any of the other shows more than a couple of eps but that's just because I never watched too much TV in that time. Now either really.
Hmm, still undecided about S2. However, I do think I'm enjoying it more than the majority here, that's for sure. Wouldn't exactly call it HBO-quality either, but I don't think it's *that* bad. Colin Firth is a nice surprise, Vaughn is somewhat interesting, and who's the young dude again? He's got a pretty decent storyline. All in all, it has enough to keep me hooked, but not enough to start speculating about it or going too much in-depth.
I cannot believe how many Lera Lynn songs they have on that Vevo channel. I would be very surprised if she doesn't make an album out of it. Here's another I like: m.youtube.com/watch
Lera Lynn is the best thing of the show, I bet what happens in that bar is more interesting! Still think this song should've been the show theme, the current one sucks more everything I hear it.

The orgy was a bit disappointing, but I will admit things actually happened in this episode. Wondering if all of our four (anti-)heroes will survive the finale.
Sid, I think we will. See, last year was the perfect ending where one of the detectives could have died. Reason would tell one that it is highly improbable that Rusty would still live after being shot and stabbed so ( IIRC) . Honestly I thought they are BOTH gonners. I think Pizzolatto has a soft spot for savings his heroEs. Just a feeling I got.
