Lol, that was fast! Oh well, I suppose not all the scenes have to be occurring at the same time. But they really should have had that Littlefinger scene in episode 1 or 2.
Anyone, damn am I excited for that Bran scene. Origin of the White Walkers, maybe? Looks like their fortress of solitude.

Yeah but I think they wanted to wait for Sansa to say they need to take back Winterfell before having LF also come up with the idea, and that's why they couldn't have that scene earlier.
Personally, I never had a problem with LF's jetpack. Just because he's in the North in the next episode doesn't mean it took him a day to do it.
Ah, that Sansa thing definitely makes sense Macha.
Yeah, it's never really bothered me much either, especially since travel times and so on are never discussed in the show (that's part of why GRRM takes forever, trying to make everything match up). I kind of like Littlefinger popping anywhere at any time, makes him even more dangerous.
And you're totally right Jent. Sansa is gonna use him and lose him. I bet she has him executed though, rather than doing it herself. More contemptuous. In fact, I'm going to bet right now that it happens in a similar way to the "Power is Power" scene from Season 2.

Episode 10 moment, I call it now. She'll reveal everything she knows and gave him hanged at Winterfell, right after he crowns her Queen in the North.
ETA: "Lords of the Vale, this man killed Jon Arryn and corrupted his wife before killing her as well. He conspired to start this war and sided with the Lannisters, betraying my father. And even them- he betrayed, assassinating Joffrey." Yada yada in the name of the North, the Vale, even the crown, hang motherfucker hang! Now I'll be disappointed if anything else happens.

True, at the moment she still doesn't know that Littlefinger betrayed her father. She knows all that other stuff though, so already plenty of reason to kill him.
Now I think about it, it would be delicious if one of Varys' little birds slipped Sansa the info at some point this season. Nice little nod to the LF-Varys rivalry. Probably not gonna happen though.

I'm actually psyched that we're still getting book stuff on screen (kingsmoot ftw!!!). I'm looking forward to the day that Asha... Yara tosses a chained band of catamites off the side of her boat a la Victarion.

Here's to hoping Robin throws him out the moon door (LF), and falls behind him. With regard to the : "Anyone, damn am I excited for that Bran scene. Origin of the White Walkers, maybe? Looks like their fortress of solitude", I'm thinking that the Children of the Forest have something to do with the origins of the Walkers or mayhaps even created them somehow, or know their King. Grasping there, but hey, who knows at this point.

I think that Hold the Door actually was a genius piece of work. It was far from the silly thing you get when you're taking it out of context. It was traumatic. And it made me cry. Poor Hodor. All his life was leading up to that point.
Also: Summer I don't think Ghost is long for this world either.

I'm just in shock at this episode. Many many ways. Very emotional for several reasons.
1) Arya during the Braavos play
2) Theon lifting up Yara during the Kingsmoot. And them running.
3) Sansa throwing off the Littlefinger yoke, while still retaining some info.
4) Summer
5) Hodor
6) Bran versus the Night's King
I'm practically crying.

I cried twice last night, first time with Dany and Jorah and then Hodor. Also was on the verge hearing Theon speak up for Yara. Not sure if I'll love the episode so much on a second viewing, this time I wasn't paying any attention to cinematography or how it was directed. I'm just a sucker for montages, puppies crying and emotional music.
And the Greyjoy theme is still the best music I hear on this show. Bless this episode, good or not, I really had fun with it! And by fun I mean bawling my eyes out.
Since i just made a bit lengthier write up about it on IWC i'll just say that i liked the ep despite bran's plotline cause i thought badly edited, too rushed and left to explain plus a wrap up that's too hard to believe, rest of the ep was solid plus very well tuned in how it translated the emotional charge with the characters involved and what was at stake (sansa scene had me holding my breath).
But this has always been a pet theory of mine that i never mentioned cause i thought it was too silly/obvious to be true, the name Hodor always sounded to my foreign ears like Hold the door, always thought of it as kind of a joke but still it was really fun to see it being the actual thing plus you can kind see where it is going when the reveal happens cause they dragged it up a bit.
Decent episode. Well, except for Hodor meaning "Hold the door". Or teleporting LF. Or Summer going out like a chump. Or "I command you find a cure". Stuff like that. For all that, some reason, I still liked the episode.
I wonder how Meera and Bran are going to get away. ENTER BENJEN!

Kinda agree on all points. Didnt want to be a downer last night when obviously peeps be emotional, but there were quite a few cheesy bits in this episode.
I quite enjoyed the CoF and WW scenes, even with the "hold the door" silliness and Summer not staying with Bran. Good point about Benjen, if there ever was a time to have him return, it would be now. If Hodor doesn't "hold the door", then those wights are gonna catch up to Meera rather quickly.
I said it on chat but Euron blows. Apart from Aflie, the whole moot was terrible. And it took far too long.
Sansa is the shit. She held the episode together. Probably one of Sophies better performances through out.
Find a cure.
The play. Agree with Macha that it was clever, but Maisie didnt do much for me in that scene. I wanted to feel that she was conflicted and sad, but I didnt sense any of that, even though that seemed to be what the writers were going for. Might just be me, but it wasnt her best. However, the "Sansa" character now has the best tits in GoT.
Mel 2.0 is super hot. But that scene sucked.

Ok now that I slept on it and got some perspective.
I thought the episode was kinda so-so till the final 10 minutes that kinda blindsided me. I was never one to over-analyze and try to find out what Hodor meant, cuz honestly who has the time for that. For me it worked on many levels, the death of Hodor one of the truly kind and innocent characters in the show. Plus the confirmation that Bran can directly interact with the past ( though I see this only causing more harm than good.)
I disagree Ry, in the books the kingsmoot was a giant multichapter snorefest, the show boiled it down to a single scene, and I kinda liked it. The silly part was Euron telling his new subjects to build ships...LOL...by the time they are done Yara and Theon will be halfway around the world ( they are gonna try to reach Meereen, right?)
Arya's part with the actors, man, I dunno why I did not like that scene. They were clearly awful on purpose, but still it was cringe worthy.
I really like the new high priestess, and the part where she knew everything about Vary's past, was chilling and effective, good stuff.
Great things in the North also, Sansa putting LF in his place was very well done, and I agree with Brienne that Sansa keeping secrets is problematic.
SO Bran and Meera are all alone, WHO OH WHO can come help them?

Those first 10 minutes were indeed insane, though I did like pretty much all of the rest of the episode. Euron was definitely the weakest part, but I never had particularly high hopes for him. And I hope Theon and Yara's bond continues to grow.
I can see why people would find the Theatre troupe a bit cringey, but I still laughed. Very reminiscent of the 5 dwarf scene from Joffrey's wedding, with horrified Stark reaction bonus to boot. Arya re-discovering her humanity through a terrible ribald play is an amusing turn of events. I hope she joins in with gusto.

Dunno why, but I was never interested in Varys' "origin story". I wonder why they brought it up now.
Also, forgot to say it until now but I don't really like Jaquen anymore either. Braavos has been such a bore. But I liked Arya during the play, I hope she refuses to kill that actress, steals a face from the hall and that she leaves the faceless men's sorry asses behind soon.
Really. Why am I not surprised?! It's the last intelligent human thing he heard before his mind was blown up. Bloodraven downloaded all his knowledge while Bran was warging him. If Bran was not ready, you expect Hodor somehow should be?! It makes perfect sense.
Yes, it's silly when you read about what it may mean without watching the scene. But what exactly is wrong with it?!?! You're just a contrarian meanie. That's right. I said it. CONTRARIAN MEANIE.
Also kudos to the actor. It made all his Hodoring so dear to me now.
I really like the new high priestess, and the part where she knew everything about Vary's past, was chilling and effective, good stuff.
While Essos is definitely not shining in writing, I positively enjoyed how Kinvara turned the tables on Varys I thought Varys put her on the spot so well with that fanatics making mistakes, since as of now there were 3 people "that were promised", though Varys only knows about "the Stannis that was promised" not "the Jon Snow that was promised". That being said, one has to wonder why would they continue with the "one that was promised", maybe they should change that to the several that were promised. Because maybe there are.
I was intrigued by the spiral of stones where the tree people created the WWs. It struck me that it's the same pattern that the WWs made of body parts at the Fist.

Yeppers, and the pattern of bodies that Will finds in the pilot.
Really enjoyed the CoF and WWs in this one.

Basi! Nice catch by the way. I only realized the pattern when I rewatched that scene. Because I rewatched all the flashbacks and Bran scenes last night. Too pumped to go to sleep.
It makes sense though if you think the White Walkers are made by the Children of the Forest. They would have the same religion and religious rituals. I also noticed that fireball Leaf was holding in the tunnel turned Ice Blue before blowing all the zombies to hell. I suspect WW do some rituals themselves. Maybe that's how the revive the dead? I mean sure the NK looks like raising them with a wave of his hand but maybe the other WW are somewhere in the background arranging bodies and chanting. NK just does the final thing.

I DECLARE A TRIAL BY COMBAT!

As I watched Arya fighting in her first scene, I realized that I can't stand another second of Braavos. She needs to cut her ties while she can and get back to Westeros. Otherwise, she's a complete waste of time as a character.
Loved the play, and thought Jaqen was a dick to send her to see it. Great test. It seems to have stirred her sense of Starkness and her conscience. So let's cut to the chase and get her in a new environment.
It was a tad cheesy TW. Why the fuck would a tree have a door anyway when it had a magic forcefield?
But the tree didn't have a door, Ry. It was the cave into which the tree roots grew that had a tunnel with a door at one end. Magic forcefield could be bypassed though, the NK did it like 5 min before. And maybe the CotF didn't want the goats inside the cave but using a forcefield for that would be a waste of energy when there is a much simpler method, if you know what I'm saying. No cheesy. I refuse to read cheesy! It was a pretty emotional and awesome scene.
Right but the cave entrance to the tree didnt have a door, just the forcefield. The WWs only bypassed the magical barrier because of Brans vampiric mistake.

I think it is pretty certain that her current mission will decide her path. I say she will not follow her orders and will retrieve needle and head back to fuck things up in Westeros....and maybe hug Jon.

Hmm yes, we've definitely had too much Braavos at this point. I think the play re-injected some energy though, and I expect her to be in Westeros by the end of the season.
