I think I'd personally be happier to know he has been living in a form of pseudo-existance, with something let's say magical keeping him away. Not warging tho, there was never any indication of that and I'd say it would cheapen the kids' abilities if he had it also. I like the theory about the NK's mark, but I'm finding it hard to believe he didn't show up in the numerous occasions Bran or even Jon needed him beyond the Wall. And why was he such a special cookie if he got caught and spared gor some other purpose. Yeah, I can't wait to see him and I'm sure he's the one they meet next episode, but I'm already not buying the explanation for his disappearance, lol. It'd better be something good. Just doing recon for such a long time seems like a stretch, I hope it's something more tragic/impactful.

I have to say, and I'd guess I'm not alone, the thought of Ian fucking McShane delivering that speech has me as excited, or possibly even more excited, than the prospect of seeing the Gravedigger.

It's a great speech, though I do hope they cut it down and get rid of the archaisms and repetition in parts. McShane should kill it, no matter what form it takes.
As for who the "Broken Man" could refer to, since these titles normally have a bunch of meanings:
1. The Hound, obviously as others have mentioned.
2. Davos. I think he could potentially find out about Shireen this episode, and it could truly crush him.
3. Theon, pretty clearly a broken man at this point, though I'm not sure what he could do.
4. The remnants of the Brotherhood without Banners, which would be a fairly literal way of tying into Septon Meribald's speech.
Any other ideas?

Sorry, Cosca, I'd love to give a thoughtful answer to your question, but I'm too busy laughing about fans "would’ve been happy with a literal word-for-word adaptation" of the Kingsmoot.
Oh, shit, Donal, you're right, Cogman is the writer for that episode. Somehow, even though I knew he'd written episode 7, and knew what we'd get in episode 7, I hadn't put it together with Cogman adapting that speech. Yeah, I have no doubt it will be really well done.

That guy was hilarious Nym. I'm trying to picture a word for word Kingsmoot. It'd probably be 30 minutes long, just for a minor plotpoint!
Yes, Cogman being in charge does dramatically increase the chances of keeping much of the monologue. I wonder how he'll do now he doesn't really have the books to rely upon, he always did it a bit more than D&D. And people really hated one of his episode from last season (Unbowed Unbent Unbroken, which I thought it was solid enough despite Dorne being the fucking worst).

Maybe the reason that guy suggested it was 'cause he knows if they'd done it word-for-word from the books, it would have been truly horrendous, lots of people would have said, ok, I have no interest in watching this, and the fondest wish of people of that ilk, that the show gets cancelled, would come to fruition. :)
I think much of the hate for U,U,U had far less to do with Cogman, and much more to do with they hated how the...uh...consummation was filmed, which I, personally, though pretty brilliant, or the fact they were pissed Sansa got put into the Jayne Poole role.

So what do you guys think will happen at the Sept?
The show seems to imply its gonna be a bloodbath, I think the situation will diffused somehow.
And I think Margaery will be the one to do it, how I have no idea.

I reckon Margaery converts to the Faith totally, and asks the Tyrell army to stand down. She was clearly faking being interested in what the High Sparrow had to say for a reason. Beyond that, I'm not sure.

I would imagine it would be to save Loras, yeah. The High Sparrow would probably agree because it's a great propaganda victory for the Faith. "The corrupt noble shedding her worldly possessions to serve the Faith", it makes for a great story.
On the other hand, maybe she'll demand to do the Walk of Shame after all, to prove her Faith. I imagine that because she's converted, the crowd won't be nearly as harsh.

There won't be a Walk, or her hair would have been chopped. I think the High Sparrow is going to flip the table on its head and leave the Tyrells fumbling.

Plus she was always more loved by the commo folk than Cersei, her would should be a walk in the (Fleabottom) park.

So we can safely assume now that Bran saw Arys burn madness we got foreshadowing that KL is burning? I know the books have some leftover hidden chambers full with that stuff, did the show have that in? I can't remember.
Also Heartsbane = Lightbringer? I always thought that it's Jon's sword since he is probably the prince that was promised as Rhaegar's son with Lyanna but who knows... Bet those crackpots are exploding over the net now
Brienne is headed there too, could make for a Brienne/Jaime reunion. But the Frey's mentioned the Brotherhood being there too...and I don't like her being there. #StoneHeart?

Oh shit! YvyB is right! I think they cast Percy from Blackadder as a Mormont (?) House guy. I mean at 0:16 it looks like it is him: Tim McInnerny. Nice. I'm putting this here because the Ep 7 thread is closed.
Oh shit, it does look like him! I really love that guy, Blackadder is the best. Speaking of the episode 7 preview; they're really going all over the North in one episode huh? I'm appreciating the "fuck logistics" mentality, that shit got real old in the books. We get it George, you care about realistic travel times!
Jaime and the Blackfish is definitely one of the good moments from Feast and Dance, so I'm looking forward to that too.

On another note, I don't know what to make of Benjenhands. D&D flat out say it's the same person, but there is that manuscript page where GM denies it when asked the same thing by his editor. WTF. If this is truly what happened with Benjen in the books as well, and I'm sure they asked GM, having two characters this similar seems ridiculous as shit.

If D&D combine Coldhands and Benjen its fine, they have combined/fused other characters on the show. The characters were so similar in the books, almost everyone made the leap and linked them, and I don't care if the pooks split em up.

And I can't possibly imagine a better explanation why Benjen didn't return than a) he physically can't b) serves the Raven and c) he's undead and looks the part. I just wish he would have appeared earlier (perhaps alongside the ravens in that Sam and Gilly) to set it up better. I am rather happy as is, though.
I think my biggest disappointment this season is that Jon is basically the same person after coming back (with a the added distaste for the Night's Watch).
Macha, you may be right. I see a different standard behind the guy. I can't tell though what's on it. As for CH and Benjen I believe Martin has them down differently. I didn't see any similarity between the two myself just a wish to have Benjen in and helping his nephew but I cannot recall anything particular where I said that's definitely Benjen. I don't know, I could be wrong. That being said I like that he's in the show. I liked the actor. And it's a Stark when we need one.
So I was thinking, if Arya survives the Waif catfight and returns to Westeros, would Jaqen or other Faceless Men hunt her down? I am not sure if the FM would allow someone to learn their secrets and then leave the guild but then they would be breaking their own rules by seeking revenge on a target that has not been paid for.

I'd guess, as long as the fight results in a face for the Hall, it won't matter too much whether it's Arya's, or the Waif's. I think Jaqen knows exactly what he's doing in setting up this "show-down." I also think he's known all along Arya would never truly become No One. Yes, that leaves the question of why he would choose to train her, nevertheless, both on the show and in the books, I've never believed the Faceless Men don't know Arya didn't get rid of Needle.

Hmm I guess about adding a face. But those that serve the Many Faced God don't just take any face, do they? Like would they take the Waifs face if/when Arya kills her? She is charged with killing Arya, Arya is not charged with killing the Waif.

I think this may well just be another test for Arya. If she dies, than oh well. But if she manages to kill the Waif... that means she has trully finished her training and is ready to take a face and be given a real mission, probably in Westeros.
I also think they may fake out Arya's death and have her return to the House of Black and White with the Waif's face (we don't know it's Arya) only to kill Jaqen or something.

Ooh I love this. But I don't think it'll be to kill Jaquen, she has no reason and he's way more skilled than her, but she could do it to impress him.
Holy crap in tomorrows episodes trailer it shows that the Greyjoys are in Volantis! Speedy ships. Ya know I know the travel times don't make any sense, but at this point I don't mind. I rather we get more plot rather than travelogue.

As nice as it is to see Blackfish piss on Jaime, I hope they also make a point of showing how dickish the Blackfish is. Needlessly prolonging the war he's already lost, putting Edmure at risk etc. It's an interesting balance to get.
Also, this episode is really gonna bring on the book rage. So much book material for fans to get angry about, as opposed to possible book material.

I have a bad feeling Edmure might go the same way Osha did, reappear and die immediately.
I mean is the Blackfish really gonna give up Riverrun for his dipshit nephew?
OH....and WHURS RICKON???

Both Edmure and Blackfish could totally be shanked and done with next episode. Frankly, I think giving up Riverrun is the right thing to do Don, he's surrounded, he's just wasting lives.
It really does seem like they're not going to give Rickon any lines this season, the poor kid. Maybe the puberty was too awkward.

I really don't think there's any chance Blackfish gets all the way North, especially since he loses the Siege in the books. Freys have 10 times the men, and now the Lannisters are turning up too.
It's looking like Sansa is either going to have to rally loads of men in the North, or ask Littlefinger for help. Option 2 seems likely.

They managed to be worse than A Feast for Crows on that Septon scene, that's saying a lot.
Are the Brotherhoods depicted as common criminals in the pooks? I don't remember but i sure as fuck won't check it out myself
So a couple of things have me thinking Lady Stoneheart might be coming.
I have no read any casting reports or on-set spying, so this deduction comes from the show itself:
1) The Mention of the Brotherhood twice this season already
2) If the BWB was the ones that attacked Sandor's camp, they seemed to have switched from the Robin Hood like types the last time we saw him, to something more brutal, new leadership might have caused that.
3) Brienne and Pod are in the right location.
4) In the trailers we see Pod being abducted.
So whatcha'll think?
