I read this review of the show from one who saw the entire season, and I'm going to give it a shot tonight. Why?! Because the pre-watching warning points are exactly what I fear TWO James Francos?! I thought it was fantastic. After Baltimore and New Orleans now Manhattan gets the main part in Simon's show. Not completely sold on the characters though, but we'll see what they bring to the table in the upcoming episodes.

Hah, we're all cautious now after Vinyl and True Detective! I'm not of an opinion they were bad but one turned out to be a one character story only with no visible development of potentially interesting avenues for supporting characters and the other was so dark and depressing in concept and execution, way to convoluted and mired in too many things, with no chemistry between characters and/or actors it was a bit painful to watch at the end. Now I'm sitting here just being skeptical, even though I agree with Japie deep down inside. Fantastic pilot.

I'll wait til the season ends, and see how everyone reacts to it. Westworld also had an amazing pilot and disappointed me afterwards.

 Agreed that WW started off amazing and then left me wishing it was more than what it was, but fuck waiting for the masses to react to the end of this show.  Gotta get your feet wet.  If it sucks, stop.  That is what I did with WW.

I would agree! But having little time to watch tv, I'd rather not throw it in something that could end up sucking butt and not making it past a single season. If the masses like it, it'd feel like a safer bet. If not, dodged a bullet then.

Everyone is getting a new interest into something: Vinnie gets the new bar, Candy gets the movie business, Minnesota gets schooled into what some biology teachers are like in NY freakout but what's that book Darlene was so interested in?!?! Lol she sold her movie back for $10. Should've asked for a lot more. I was about to die of laughter with the existential crisis of a pimp life unloading his troubles on the hooker. Jesus, talk about mind fucking with "your bitches" I hope they make some kind of sindicate and get a piece of that pie themselves. I know Candy has the savvy and I don't think anyone would mess with Thunderthighs! And now we all know that Viking cum is good but cold Campbell potato soup sucks

Boys in the Sand =/= Lawrence of Arabia! It was a fantasy movie. You dream about the dick, and dick is there!!!! I thought Ashley was terrific. I can't see where the movie, the massage parlors and Hi Hat bar storylines meet but all it's pretty good.

Show keeps getting better and better. At first I was a bit hestitant about the Franco doublerole but he's really growing into it, especially because the stupit brother role is getting some more depth.

I can't believe they did that to Ruby! out of all of the things that was just terrible. Such a senseless thing. Some really, really good scenes. Too much pussy is a bad thing for Vince I was thrilled Candy got her Hitchcock/Truffaut directing on! yippie Camera has to follow the dick because dick has a story!!!! Pussy didn't Alston got played by the Amsterdam News lady. I get she wanted the story but really, I wish she wasn't using the pussy for it! Maybe that's what Simon wanted to convey (?) pussy gets used either way.
