Talking to Bas tonight and thinking about a way to keep in touch post GOT, i think making a group on Telegram or Signal, or any secure app could work. We could keep the chat going and not worry about servers or any of that stuff. We would have to share our phone numbers though, but that could be done via pm or chat, not here.
Nothing wrong with that. I think about how nice it must be not to be chained to your phone and to be able to switch off completely when you aren't sitting at a computer. I kind of miss that.
and i thought BaS was worried about privacy, that's a whole different level Nym!
Believe me, I'd far rather have it not be necessary, but circumstances make it such that it is.

Let me know what you think, Dolan.
There is that advantage to it.
Remember our conversation a couple/few years back about our shared experiences?
He came back. It resulted in another felony conviction, but he's already served his time (under 2 years on a 5 year sentence). Fortunately, he's on a GPS ankle monitor, at least for now.

I have Signal and wickr set up. I don't know about Wire. I don't think it's possible to create an Signal account without giving a phone number. My number is fake, so I don't care, but others might not be good with that. I also don't know if you can set it up on a desktop. If Nym wants to join in, wickr or wire might be best, since they have desktop apps. Anyone have thoughts on those?
Edited to add: Wickr's android app sucks about notifications, just so you know.

I think any of them would work. Just gotta set up the group now.
Anybody wanna join just pm me your number and install wickr on your phone or pc. Or send Donal the number and he gets the responsibility
I have a flip top phone, so, mine would have to be pc compatible. But, I'm in if it is a computer thing.

Don't know about this technological hoop-de-do you guys are talking about. Thinking about fading out of this fandom thing in the near future. So, if any are interested, pm me and I'll give you my *government if you want to friend me on Facebook.
*government is slang for personal info, the kind of thing you would know if you were on Facebook.

Oh.
If it is something I can't just use an email to sign up, I can't do it.
:(
If nothing else, you have my email, Donal, or I'm guessing you do, as the admin here,
So in the event this place gets resurrected when the prequel airs, or a group gets formed where emails can be used, you're welcome to email me. I'd love to know.

I'm a big privacy nerd, so I completely get it. So I'll tell you a couple of the tools I use to sign up for things like Signal anonymously.
To get onto Signal, you can use any number you can access long enough to get the verification code. There are a number of ways to get fake numbers that will work for setting up Signal. Some are free, others not so much. Of the fake number apps I've tried, I like the burner app the best. https://www.burnerapp.com/ You do have to pay for it, but I pay for things online using the privacy pay app to stay anonymous. https://privacy.com/ It's free, it's secure, and it's awesome. You can give any name and address you want when you pay for things, so it's really versatile. You set up a fake credit card number for every website you use to pay for things, and you can use them once or multiple times. You have control over amounts charged per day, per month, etc. It's a powerful tool.
I hope that helps, peeps. PM me with any questions.

Thank you so much for the info!!!
